AN ORDINANCE amending Section 39 -(b) 2, of Ordinance No. B -131, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their
incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing
the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto, defining
offenses, providing penalties and repealing certain ordinances concerned
with or relating to the subject matter of this ordinance, and declaring
an emergency.."; as amended by Ordinance No. B -238; and declaring an
emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. shat Section 39 (b) 2 of Ordinance No. B -131, passed and
approved by the" City Commission on February 26, 1936, and entitled as set forth in the
caption hereof, .and the amendment thereto by Ordinance No. B -238, passed and approved
by the City Commission on September 13, 1937, be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section 39 (b) 2. When passing any marked school or public playground
or park cross - walk, when such marked cross -walk is fully posted with
standard portable school or speed control signs. The speed zone at the
cross -walk shall extend 300 feet in either direction from the marked
cross - walk."
Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preserva
tion of public peace, health, welfare and safety of the people of the City of Yakima;
and an emergency is hereby declared to exist; and said ordinance shall be in full
force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved, this 20th day of
June, 1951.

relating to the subject matter of this ordinance, and declaring an emergency. "; as
amended by Ordinance No. B -238; and declaring an emergency. ", as passed on this 20th
day of June, 1951, and that same has been published as required by law.
