B -1253 • AN ORDINANCE fixing the, office hours of certain City offices, and repealing Ordinance No. B -198, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE fixing the time the offices of the City officers of the City of Yakima will remain open for the transaction of public business. "; and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: .. Section 1. All elective and appointive offices of the City of Yakima, except the offices of the Police Department and Fire Department, shall oh all business days be open from 9 :00 o'clock A.M. until .5 :00 o'clock P.M.; provided, however,;that all of such offices, other than the City Clerk, City Treasurer, and Water Superintend- ent close from 12 :00 o'clock noon until 1 :00 o'clock P.M. on such business days: provided further, however, that.on Saturdays all of said offices may close ,at 1 :00 o'clock P.M. Section 2. The offices of the Police Department and Fire Department shall remain open continuously. Section 3. That Ordinance No. B -198, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE fixing the time the offices of the City officers of the City of Yakima will remain open for the transaction of public business." passed and approved by the City Commission on the 21st day of June, 1937; be and it is hereby repealed. • Section 4. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preserva- tion of public peace, . health, welfare and safety of the people of the City of Yakima; and an emergency is hereby declared to exist; and said Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and.the City Charter.
