B -1251 • AN ORDINANCE amending Section 104 of Ordinance No. B -131, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE.•. relating to.and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon the -streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing • -.the powers-and duties of officers and others .in relation thereto; defining - offenses; providing penalties And repealing :certain. ordinances concerned . with or .relating to the subject matter of this ordinance, and declaring an:emergency..; as amended by No. B -160. • BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: • Section 1. That Section 104 of Ordinance No. B -131, passed and approved - by the City 'Commission on the-26th day of February, 1936, and entitled•as set forth • in -the caption hereof; , as amended by Ordinance Noe • B -160, passed and approved' by the City Commission on•the`6th day' of• October, 1936; be and the same is hereby re- amended to :read as follows: • . "The City Commission shall by ordinance establish and set aside certain new taxi Stands-in the City of Yakima. No..stands shall ever be estab- lished without.t he written consent of the owner or lessee of the • • • abutting property any.such stand may be abolished upon-the written request of the•owner'or lessee of such abutting property. • It shall be unlawful to ask, solicit, offer, give or receive, either directly-or indirectly, anything of value as a consideration-for the ' consent to use any portion of the streets or alleys or other places • open to the use of the public for vehicular traffic for vehicles for hire." , Section 2.. • That that part of Section. 104 of Ordinance No. B -131, passed and approved by the City Commission on the 26th day of February, 1936, and entitled as set forth in the caption hereof; as amended by Ordinance No. B -160, passed and approved by the City Commission on 'the 6th day of October, 1936, reading as follows: • "and not more than one stand shall ever be established on any one street, within the first ' block either north or-south of Yakima Avenue, except on First Street." • be and the same is hereby repealed. . Section 3•. This• ordinance shall become effective thirty days after -its passage, approval'and publication as provided by law and the City Charter. • PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved, this 28th day of May, 1951.
