B -1233 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 71 (a) of Ordinance No. B -131, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses, providing penalties andrepealing certain ordinances concerned with or relating to the subject matter of this ordinance, and declaring an emergency; "; as amended by Ordinances No. B -956, B -1068, and B -1186; and declaring .a an emergency. That Section 71 a of Ordinance No. B -131, passed and approv- ed by the City Commission on February 26, 1936, and entitled as set forth in the cap- tion hereof; and the amendments thereto be Ordinance No. B -956, passed and approved by the City Commission on December 6, 1948, and by Ordinance No. B -1068, passed and approved by the City 'Commission on November 14, 1949; and by Ordinance No. B -1186, passed and approved by the City Commission on October 16, 1950; be and the same is here- by amended to read as follows: "71 (a) One hour parking or angle parking: The operator of a vehicle shall not stop, park or angle park such vehicle for a longer continuous time than one hour between the hours of 9 :00 A.M. and 6 :00 P.M. of any day except Sundays and holidays, upon the foll- owing described portions of the following named streets and avenues in the City of Yakima: Front Street: The West side from Yakima Avenue to Chestnut (South) Street. Both sides from Chestnut Street to Walnut Street. (North) Both sides from A Street to B Street. East B Street: Both sides East B Street from Front to First Street. - North 1st St.: Both sides North First Street from B to 'C Streets. W. Walnut St.: The South side of West Walnut Street, from South Third Avenue to South Fourth Avenue. Each hour during which a vehicle is permitted by the driver thereof to park or angle park in violation hereof, shall be `deemed a separate offense. Any person who shall violate this provision of this ordinance shall be fined not more than 31.00 for each such offense." Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preserva- tion of public peace, health, welfare and safety of the people of the City of Yakima; and an emergency is hereby declaried to exist; and said Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided . by law and the City Charter.
