ORDINANCE NO. B -1213
AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the 1951
budget; for the payment of salary for a Civilian Defense Administrator,
the purchase of necessary materials, supplies, and equipment for civilian
defense; and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That an emergency exists, requiring the employment of a
Civilian Defense Administrator, at a monthly salary of not to exceed $150.00; and the
purchase of necessary materials, supplies, and equipment for civilian defense; requir-
ing the expenditure of not to exceed $4,700.00; which emergency could not reasonably
have been foreseen at the time of making the 1951 budget.
Section 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered and direct-
ed to issue emergency warrants upon the funds properly chargeable therefor, upon the
presentation of proper salary vouchers for the payment of services of a Civilian
Defense Administrator, in an aggregate amount not to exceed $1,800.00 for the calendar
year 1951; and to issue emergency warrants upon the funds properly chargeable therefor,
for the purchase of necessary materials, supplies, and equipment for civilian defense,
in an aggregate amount not to exceed $4,700.00, for the calendar year 1951; upon the
presentation of proper vouchers therefor.
Section 3. This Ordinance is one providing for the expenditure of funds
not budgeted; and an emergency is declared to exist; and this Ordinance shall be in
full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as pro-
vided by law and the City 'barter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 15th day of
January, 1951.
