B -1148 • AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the 1950 budget, for the purpose of paying preliminary engineering expenses in connection with the survey and plans for a railroad overpass, and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: . Section 1. That whereas the Federal Government has made a commitment to furnish the sum of $322,000.00 in aid of the construction of a railroad overpass at or near Lenox Avenue in the City of Yakima,. and whereas said commitment was not available at the time of making the 1950 budget and it is necessary for the City, in order to avail itself of said funds, to conduct preliminary engineering survey and planning work at a cost of approximately ,1,000.00 and funds therefor were not provided in the 1950 budget, an'emergency now exists which could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time of making the 1950 budget rea,uiring the expenditure of said funds. Section 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered and direct- ed to issue emergency warrants upon the funds properly chargeable therefor for such engineering survey and planning work in a sum not to exceed $1,000.00 upon the presen- tation of proper vouchers therefor. Section 3. This ordinance !is one providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter. .
