Dear Members of the Yakima City Council:
RECEIVED
CITY OF YAKIMA
NOV 2 5 2013
OFFICE OF CITY COUNCIL
Congratulations on the progress you have made toward adopting Yakima's Downtown Master
Plan! This is another example of the positive change that can happen when elected officials and
a variety of citizens come together to dream big and strive beyond the status quo.
As I have said many times, creating jobs is our state's top priority today, tomorrow, and every
day for the next four years. Innovative and well -articulated plans that enhance a community's
historical and natural assets are critical in this age of increased economic competition. Whether
it is creating a community space such as the Yakima Plaza, a retail 'Main Street,' a Mercado, or
a Yakima Avenue that is trolley, bike and pedestrian friendly, this plan is capable of serving as a
driver of the area's economy for years to come. I look forward to seeing the exciting
developments that arise in the future and exploring ways to help this dream become a reality.
Again, congratulations on your work, and please accept my best wishes for continued success in
the years ahead.
Very truly yours,
J

My husband and I would like to thank the Senior Home Repair Program for the wonderful service they gave
to us. Our old Furnace and very old Air -conditioner was not very dependable and costly for the power bill,
and we were never sure if we would have heat in the winter or cool in the summer, and on a fixed income of
social security, we did not have the funds to replace either, but thanks to this Senior Program we have
dependable heat and cool this summer, We cannot express how much we appreciate the wonderful work
that went into the program . Also they installed a wonderful ramp that will help both of us, especially if the
time comes we need medical help getting out of the house, so again thank you so much for this wonderful
program.
