For Meeting of: September 7, 2021 ITEM TITLE: Project Completion and Contract Acceptance for POW Contracting, Inc. - Project 2511 Beech Street Lift Station Odor Control Improvements SUBMITTED BY: Scott Schafer, Director of Public Works David Brown,Assistant Director of Public Works Mike Price, Wastewater/Stormwater Division Manager SUMMARY EXPLANATION: City Project 2511 installed wet well ventilation improvements and an activated carbon air scrubber to mitigate corrosion and odor issues at the Beech Street Lift Station. The City contracted with POW Contracting, Inc. for the construction. Final inspection for this project was made and the recommendation is that the project be accepted. A final payment of$0 is due from the City to POW Contracting for the completion of the project. Project Manager: Dana Kallevig Contractor: POW Contracting Contract Awarded: 11/18/2020 Contract Cost: $214,185.92 Retainage Due: $0 The total contract cost is for construction only and does not include engineering and other costs. City Council action is required to accept the project. RH2 Engineering, Inc., (RH2) recommends Final Acceptance of the contract at City of Yakima's (City) next scheduled council meeting. The project total is $214,185.92 which includes all contractor pay estimates, sales tax, and change orders. WASHINGTON The Final Contract Voucher Certificate and Change Order No 1 reconciling the LOCATIONS difference between the contract amount and final payment are attached to Bellingham this letter. Bothell(Corporate) The completion date for this contract has been established as May 20th,2021. East Wenatchee The signed subcontractor release forms and affidavits of wages paid have been Issaquah submitted. These documents are also attached to this letter. Richland Tacoma The City will need to submit the Notice of Completion of Public Works Contract forms for release from the Washington State Departments of Revenue, OREGON Employment Security Department, and Labor and Industries.This is required LOCATIONS prior to the retainage bond being eligible for release. Medford Portland Per Division 1.43.20 in the Technical Specifications, this project is covered by a 2-year warranty to correct any defects in workmanship or materials following IDAHO completion of the construction project and acceptance by the City.
