The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Stratton and Commissioners Washburn
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that this being the time for receiving bids for
coal for the year 1932, it is ordered that said bids be opened and tabulated, and the
awarding of'the contract postponed until Monday, August 31st, 1931 at 9 o'clock A.M:-
carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that a left hand turn may be made either to the
north or south at the intersection of East Yakima Avenue and Fourth Street, but no left
hand turn shall be allowed at said intersection to the east or west: carried, Stratton,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION 140. 0-1'2, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY, COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASH -
INGTON:
That it is the intention of the City Commission of the City of
Yakima, Washington, to improve Eighth AvenueSouth, from West Walnut Street to.West Maple
Street, by grading and paving the same with a one course Portland cement concrete pave -
ment, 32 feet in width; by constructing the necessary curbs, sidewalks and siphons, and
by doing all such other work as may be necessary In connection therewith, all in accor-
dance with the plans and specifications therefor to be prepared by the City Engineer and
filed with the City Clerk.
All persons.who_ may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of the City Com-
mission, to be held at its offices in the City Office Building in the City of Yakima,
Washington, at the hour of 9:00 o'clock A.M., on Monday, the 14th day of September, 1931,
which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters_ relating to said
proposed improvement or objections thereto and for determining the method of payment
therefor and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and
of the intention to make the.af oresaid improvement.
The costs and expenses of said improvement shall be borne by and
assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor, as pro-
vided by law, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission
at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data andother infor-
mation required by law to be submitted by him.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 24th day of August, 1931.

ORDINANCE NO.-B-6, entitled, "An Ordinance providing for the improvement of property in
the City of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of a sewer, establishing a Local Im-
provement District, providing for the method of payment therefor and creating a special
fund ", was introduced by Stratton and read by the City Clerk. .
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -6 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -6 be passed to its third
reading and read in full: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -6 be passed as finally read:

Moved by Clark, seconded by Stratton that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to adver-
tise for bids by publication as required by law for constructing a dewer on North First
Avenue and other streets in the City of Yakima, in Local Improvement District No. 499;
said bids to be received on Monday, September 14th, 1931 at 10 o'clock A.M: carried,
Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the following claims be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants therefor: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark vot-
ing aye on roll call.
