Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that Resolution No. 0-1 be adopted as read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -2, WHEREAS, Section 6, of Article Vl, of the Charter of the City of Yakima, provides that the city in cases of emergency, may purchase material when the cost thereof exceeds the sum of $500.00, by resolution; and WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient and necessary that the City pur- chase a Ford truck to be used in the Water Department of said city; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: that the City Commission of the City of Yakima, purchase a Ford tru k for'the use and benefit. of-the Water Department of said city for the sum of $,�9�/9 , the same to be paid for by warrant drawn upon the Water Fund of said city. The City Commission•met in regular session, Mayor Stratton and Commissioners Washburn and Clark present on roll call. - Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark.that the minutes of the regular meeting of Mon- day, June 22, 1931 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that the application of George'Leibfried for per- mission to operate,5 card tables at 112 E Yakima Avenue be denied: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -2, entitled, "An'Ordinance providing for the construction of Portland cement concrete sidewalks upon certain streets in the City of Yakima, establishing a local improvement district, providing a method.of payment therefor and creating a special fund ", was introduced by Stratton and read by the City Clerk. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -2 be passed to its second reading and read by title only: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -2 be passed to its third reading and read in full: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -2 be passed as finally read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye,on roll call.• Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to ad- vertise for bids for constructing a sidewalk on Jefferson Avenue in Local Improvement District No. 498, by publication as required by law; said bids to be received on Mon- day, July 13th, 1931 at 10 o'clock A.M: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1, WHEREAS; Article 111, of Ordinance No. A -1229, passed by the City Commission of the City of Yakima, on the 22nd day of September, 1930, provided among other things that the City Commission determine and designate traffic signs and signals to be placed upon the streets and alleys of said city, subsequent to the passage of said ordinance, and WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient by the City Commission to cause stop signs to be placed upon various streets of the City of Yakima for the-protection and safety of the people of said city; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF-YAKIMA,, that-stop'' hat stop signs be placed at the intersection of the following named streets, to -wit: Hall Ave - nue on the north side of West Yakima Avenue; Park Avenue on the north side of Summit - view.Avenue; Eighteenth Avenue North on the south side of Summitview Avenue; West ' ' Brown Avenue, east and west of Sixteenth Avenue; West Chestnut Street on the east side of 16th Avenue S; East "A1l Street,-on the east and west side of Second Street N; East "A" Street on the east and west side of North Third Street; East "A1° Street on the east and west of N. Fourth Street; East Chestnut Street east*and west of South First Street; East Chestnut Street on the east and west side of South Second Street; East Chestnut ,Street on the east and west side of South Fourth Street.
