The City Co7m,rnission met in regular session, Mayor Stratton and Commissioners Clark and
Traub present on roll call.
Moved. by Stratton, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
May 25th, 1951 be approved as read: carried, Stratton, Clark and Traub voting aye on
roll call.
Moved. by Stratton, seconded by Traub that the application of H. G. Miller for a license
to operate a card table at No. 11 South Front Street be denied: carried, Stratton,
Clark and Traub voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Stratton, seconded by Traub that the claim of Irene Billington in the sum of
$768.05 for damages alleged to have been sustained by reason of falling into a wooden
meter box in front of the High School on South 7th Avenue is hereby denied: carried,.
Stratton, Clark and Traub voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. B -1192, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,
WASHINGTON:
That it is the intention of the City Commission of •the City of
Yakima, Washington, to improve Jefferson Avenue by the construction of Portland cement
concrete sidewalks five feet in width, along both sides thereof, the walk on the north
side to extend from the end of the existing walk 40.45 feet east of the east lire of
Clark: Avenue to a point 230.5 feet west of the west line of the same, the walk on the
south side to extend from the end. of the existing walk 40.45 feet east of the east line
of Clark Avenue to a point 270.5" feet west of the west line thereof and. by doing all
such other work as may be necessary in connection therewith, all in accordance with
plans and specifications therefor to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with
the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of the City Com-
mission to be held at ita-offices in the City Office Building in the City of Yakima,
Washington, at the hour of nine o'clock A. M., on Monday, the 22nd day of June, 1931,
which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said
proposed improvement or objections thereto and for determining the method of payment
therefor and the City Clark is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of
the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The costs and expense of said improvement shall be borne. by and
assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor, as pro-
vided by law, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission
at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other infor-
mation required by law to be submitted by him.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY C0MMISSION this 1st day of June, 1931.

allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants therefor as follows: Various
Dept. $1,949.96; Health Dept. $1,936.66; Fire Dept. $5, 103.33; Police Dept. $$3,423.29;
Engineering Dept. $1,380.00; Library $716.50; Fixed Estitiate $320.00; Irrigation $333.32;
Cemetery $135.00; L.I.D..Revolving $75.00; F.R. & P. $113..75; Park $250.00; Water Dept.
$3,418.32: carried, Stratton, Clark and Traub voting aye. on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Stratton that the payrolls for
Water Departments be allowed and, the City Clerk authorized
