The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Stratton and Commissioners Clark and
Traub present on roll call.
Moved. by Stratton, seconded by Clark that the minutes of thezegular meeting of Monday,
May 18th, 1931 be approved as read: carried, Stratton, Clark and Traub voting aye on rol
call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Stratton that the. City purchase 20-shares of the Yakima Vall
Canal Co. Water stock for the sum of $125.00 per share for use for irrigation purposes
from Fred Zier, and the City Clerk is authorized,to issue a warrant to the said Fred
Zier for the sum of $2,400.00, that sum being his share after deducting the assessment
on the stock: carried, Stratton, Clark and Traub voting aye on roll call.
moved by Stratton, seconded by Traub that the petition-of Smith & Reeves to construct,
maintain and. operate a gasoline filling station at Pierce Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, is
hereby granted: carried, Stratton, Clark and Traub voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. B -1191, A petition having been filed by the owners of all of Block 227
of the original townsite of North Yakima, now Yakima, Washington, according to the offic-
ial plat thereof now on file and of record in the office of the Auditor of-Yakima County,
Washington, for the vacation of all of the alley in said block 227 aforesaid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said petition shall come on
for hearing before the City Commission of the City of Yakima, Washington, at ten o'clock
A. M., on the 15th day of June, 1931, at which said time said petition shall be heard
and determined.
The Clerk of the City of Yakima is hereby.authorized and directed
to give twenty"(20) days notice of the pendency of said petition by a written notice
posted in three (3) of the most public places of the City of Yakima, and a like notice
on the alley sought to be vacated; which said notice shall contain a statement that a
petition has been filed to vacate all of thealley in Block 227 of the original townsite
of North Yakima, now Yakima; that said vacation shall be subject to all existing rights
to the use of said alley for telephone and power lines as the same are how located upon
said alley, and for gas, water and sewer pipes and mains as the same are now constructed
in and under the ground surface of said alley and subject further to the continued use
of said alley for said public utility_ purposes with rights of ingress and egress-for
purpose of repair and maintenance of said telephone and power lines, gas, sewer and
water pipes and mains; together with the time and place fixed for the hearing of said
petition.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, SIGNED and APPROVED this 25th day
of May, 1931.
