The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Riley and Commissioner.-Clark present
on roll call, Washburn absent.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
August 28th, 1939 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, :Riley
and 'Clark voting aye on roll call, W-, shburn absent.
RESOLUTION NO. C -429, WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Commission of the
City of Yakima, a budget covering the detailed estimate of all expenditures proposed
to be made by the City of Yakima for the ensuing fiscal year and a statement of the
probable revenue from sources other than taxation for the ensuing fiscal year, in the
manner and form prescribed by law; and
WHEREAS, the same has been considered by the City Commission in
detail and such revisions and additions made as has been deemed advisable:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That the aforesaid budget be and the same is hereby adopted and
approved as the budget for the City of Yakima for the ensuing fiscal year and the
City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice that said budget has been completed.and
placed'on.file, and a copy thereof will be furnished any taxpayer who will call at the
office of the City Clerk therefor, and that the City Commission of the City of 'Yakima
will meet on the first Monday in October, 1939, at the offices of the City Commission
in said City at the hour of 9 o'clock A. M., for the purpose of fixing the final bud-
get 'and making. the tax levies and notifying any taxpayer that he. may appear 'at said
meeting and be heard for or against any part of said budget, and said notice shall 'be `
published once each week for two consecutive weeks immediately following the adoption
of said preliminary budget.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That the improvement of certain streets in the City of'Yakima,
as shown by the accompanying map, by grading, shaping, rolling and applying an Asphal-
tic Road.Material, according to the State Department of Highways Standard Specifica-
tions,'be and the same is hereby authorized under the provisions of Chapter 157 of
the Laws of 1937.

WHEREAS, the City of Yakima is the owner of the following de-
-scribed real property situated in Yakima County, State of Washington, to -wit:
Lot 5, Block 157, New Home Addition and Bungalow
Addition to North Yakima (now Yakima),
according to the official plat thereof now orr., file and of record in the office of the
Auditor of Yakima County, Washington, by reason of a deed therefor issued by the
Treasurer of Yakima County, State of Washington, to said City of Yakima, on sale of
said property for delinquent real estate taxes, and
WHEREAS, it appears to be for the best interest of said City
of Yakima to sell said premises to MILLARD L. THOMAS, a single man,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE.
CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON:

RESOLUTION NO. C -432, A RESOLUTION authorizing the sale of Lots 16, 17 and 19, Heintz
Addition to Yakima, according to the official plat thereof now on file and of record
in the office of the Auditor of Yakima County, Washington.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima is the owner of the following describ-
ed real property situated in Yakima., Yakima County, Washington, to -wit:
Lots 16, 17, and 19, Heintz Addition to* Yakima,
according to the official plat thereof now on file and of record in the office of the
Auditor of Yakima County, Washington, by reason of a deed therefor issued by the Treas-
urer of Yakima County, County of Yakima., State of Washington, to said City of Yakima,
on sale of said property for delinquent taxes, and
WHEREAS, it appears to be for the best Interest of said City of
Yakima, to sell said premises to FRED L. .BAKER and TRESSIE C. BAKER, husband and wife,
--upon the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF Y.AKIMA, WASHINGTON:
That said above described premises be and they are hereby author-
ized to be sold to FRED L. BAKER and TRESSIE C. BAKER, husband and wife, for the total
sum of Two Hundred Five and No /100 ($205.00) Dollars, payable as follows: the sum of
Forty -one and No /100. ($41.00) Dollars in cash upon the execution of the contract here -
in-authorized and the balance of One Hundred Sixty -four and No /100 ($164.00) Dollars
in monthly payments of Fif -teen and No /100 ($15.00) Dollars, beginning October 10; 1939,
and continuing until the entire amount has been paid. All deferred payments to bear
interest-at-the rate of six per cent per annum.pa.yable monthly with principal payments.
The purchaser under said contract shall also agree to pay all
assessments against said premises falling due under any Local Improvement District or
Districts hereafter-created or arising from.levies hereafter placed against said prem-
ises, and the Mayor and City Clerk of said City are hereby authorized and directed to
enter into a contract in duplicate with said purchaser udder the terms hereinabove set
forth.
Said agreement to be entered into shall also contain suitable
provisions requiring any buildings upon said premises to be insured at the expense of
the second parties in a solvent insurance company satisfactory to first party as.its
Interest may appear and shall contain a, provision that in case of destruction of or
damage to any buildings or improvements on said premises such damage or loss shall be
the loss of second parties and shall not be a ground for rescission of said contract;
and said contract shall also contain a suitable provision providing for forfeiture
thereof upon failure of second party to make any payment of principal, interest, taxes
or assessments therein provided for when same shall become due or delinquent, notice
of such forfeiture to be for 30 days and sergice thereof to be by serving same person-
ally upon second parties or by mailing to them at Yakima, Washington, and a further
provision shall be placed therein that upon final payment of said principal and inter-
est and taxes and assessments the first party shall convey said premises to second
parties by a good and sufficient Quit Claim Deed conveying all, the interest said City
of Yakima has now in said premises; and the further provision•shall be contained in
said contract 'against the assignment of second parties without the consent of first.

total sum of One Hundred Twenty and No /100 ($120.00) Dollars, payable as follows:
the sum.of•Thirty and No /100 ($30.00) Dollars in cash upon the execution of the con-
tract herein authorized-and the balance of Ninety and No /100 ($90.00) Dollars in
monthly payments of Twenty and No /100 ($20.00) Dollars, beginning October 5, 1939,
and continuing until the entire amount has been paid. All deferred payments to bear
interest at the rate of six per cent.per annum payable monthly with principal payments.

RESOLUTION NO. C -434, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY'OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention to construct a water system to serve
all of the lots and tracts of land within the following described district:
Beginning at the intersection of Twentieth Ave-
nue South with Nob Hill Boulevard; thence westerly
along Nob Hill Boulevard to a point 166 feet
west of the center line of Twenty -fifth Avenue
South; thence northerly and parallel with
Twenty -fifth Avenue South to a point 100 feet
south of Tieton Drive; thence westerly and para-
llel with Tieton Drive to the west line of the
.East Half of the Northeast Quarter of the North-
west Quarter of Section 26, Township 13 North,
Range 18 E.W.M., thence northerly along said
west line to Tieton Drive; thence easterly along
Tieton Drive to Twentieth Avenue South; thence
southerly Along Twentieth Avenue South to the
southerly right of way line of the Natchez and Cowychee
Ditch; thence westerly along said right.of way line
to the alley in Block 13 of the Subdivision of
Tracts 13 and 14 of Chase Hill Residence Tracts;
thence southerly along said alley to Bonnie Doon

said improvement to consist of the acquiring of right of way easements, and the in-
stallation of the necessary mains, fire hydrants, valves and other appurtenances for
the purpose of supplying water for domestic use, and to be constructed'in full ac=
cordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and
filed with the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting
of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima.,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of ten o'clock A. M., on Monday, the 2nd day
of October, 1939; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all matters
relating to the said proposed improvement, or objections thereto, and for determining
the method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due
notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.

19-5 =18-6 -19-9 -190- 191 - 192 -203- 204 - 205 -206- 207 -209-- 209 - 210 - 211 -212- 213 - 214 -215- 230 -157 and
123, par value $1,000.00 each. The total aggregate par value of the above bonds being
$1,000.00. Said bonds having been issued by the Tacoma Masonic Corporation, bearing
5 °o interest and being First Mortgage bonds on property of the Tacoma Masonic Corpora-
tion in the City of Tacoma, Washington, and
WHEREAS.; it is necessary that the terms . of said bonds be' modified
to enable the said Tacoma Masonic Corporation to retire them.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is deemed to the best interests to the City
