The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Washburn II
and Clark present on roll call. .
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
October 10th., .1935.and.adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, Riley,.
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved-by-Washburn, seconded by Riley that the following payrolls be allowed and the
City Clerk. authorized•to* issue warrants in payment therefor: Water Dept. $733.65;
Irrigationf$lO2.00.; L.,I.D. Rev... - .$134.56 and Curb & Gutter $151.45: carried, Riley,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Riley that claims on the followingg funds be allowed
and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants in payment therefor: Current Expense
$3,417.12; City Street.$4,575.73; Library $355.92; Parks $207.51; Cemetery $147.05;
Cemetery Care'$21.00; Fixed Estimate $51.75; Revolving $134.56; L.I.D. Diets. $70279.75;

RESOLUTION NO. C -358, BE IT RESOLVED.BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,
WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention to construct an irrigation system and
domestic water system to serve all the lots and tracts of land described.as follows:
Beginning 30 feet South and 30 feet West
.of the northeast corner of the South Half
of the NEI of the NEI of Section 19,
Township 13 North, Range 19 E. W. M.;
thence west parallel with Moxee Avenue
556.4 feet; thence south 420 55' east
365.5 feet; thence east 641.5 feet;
thence north 0® 52' west 266.7 feet to
the point of beginning, said described
district to include Lots 1 to 35 of
Captentier's Subdivision;
said improvement to consist of the completion of the necessary mains, laterals,
service connections.and other appurtenances for the purpose.of delivering water for
irrigation purposes, and the completion of the necessary mains, fire hydrants, valves
and other appurtenances for. the purpose of supplying water for domestic use to each
lot and.'tract.,of land within.the proposed district, and to be constructed in full
accordance -.with th'e. plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and
filed with the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve -
ment-are hereby-notified to appear and-present such objection, if any, at a meeting
of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima-County:, Washington., at the hour of ten o'clock A. M., on Monday, the 7th day-of
November. -)1938 time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters
relating to.said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the
method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice
of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement:
The cost and expense of said improvement shall be distributed
as follows: Approximately the sum of $515*500.00 to be taken care of by the Works Pro-
gress Administration, and the balance thereof to be borne by and assessed against all.
of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as
above described; and the.City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Com-
mission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and
other information required by law to be by him submitted.

day of October, 1939-

ORDINANCE NO. B -347, entitled,. 10AN ORDINANCE providing for the taking of land for the
purposes of protecting the domestic water supply'of the City of Yakima, Washington,
from po-lution and for the protection of the safety and security of said water supply
and water supply system, authorizing the institution of condemnation proceedings;
providing for the payment of compensation, damages and costs, and declaring an emer-
gency1°, was introduced by Riley and read by the City Clerk.

Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B =347 be passed to its third
reading and read in full: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.

Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that this being the time for receiving bids for
furnishing materials, consisting of pipe,fittings, valves and other appurtenances to
be used in the construction of additions and extensions to the domestic water system

and for installation of irrigation systems in said city; said bids were opened and read
and transferred to the City Engineer's Office for tabulation to be reported on at 3 :30
P. M.: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that we do now adjourn to 3:30 P. M.: carried,
Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ADJOURNED MEETING, MONDAY, OCTOBER 17, 1938, 3:30 P. M.
The.City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Riley and Commissioner's Wash-
burn and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the report of the City Engineer and Supt. of
the Water-Dept., having been submitted upon the completion of the tabulation of-bids
received st'AO'"o l clock for furnishing. pipe, fittings, etc., for constructing domestic
and -irrigation, water systems in the City of Yakima the following awards are hereby
made: Hugh G. Purcell, on pipe $19,211.25, less 21%; onfittings $802.70, less Ng %; on
jointing material $672.00, less 2-% and on small pipe $75.16, less 22 %; Rensselaer Valve
Co. on-valves $2,852.80, less 2%; boxes $280.00, less 2 %; Hydrants $3,037.50, less 2 %:
carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
