City•of:'Yakima'; a budget.. covering the. detailed estimate of all expenditures proposed to -,be° made :by, the...Ci,ty of Yakima for the ensuing fiscal year and a statement of the probable- revenue from sources other than taxation for the ensuing fiscal year, in the manner and form prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the same has been considered by the City Commission in detail and such revisions and additions made as has been deemed advisable: NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA. RE80LUTION NO. 0-352, ARRESOLUTION authorizing the purchase of'three thousand.acre feet of storage water. WHEREAS., the City of Yakima now owns certain water rights from the Nache.s. River., a tributary of Yakima River, and uses the same for irrigation, do- mestic and municipal purposes in said city, and ~ WHEREAS,l the. city . desires to increase its water supply. by the . purchase of.. additional.,.supplemental.water right from the United States including- stored water::,from.the reservoirs.constructed by the United States under the provisions of the .Reclamation Act..in..connection with the Yakima Project, and for such purposes desires..to.secure from the United States the right to divert three thousand acre feet of water from the .Nache.s River, .consisting part of the natural flow water when flood water i.s available,in said stream and a part from the flow from the reservoirs of the United States, AND WHEREAS, it -is deemed to be for the best interests of said City.of Yakima that the-city purchase said additional water at this time: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON: That said City of Yakima, a municipal corporation, purchase three thousand .(3, 000) - acre feet of additional water from., the, United States, . and that said city of Yakima:;:. through its duly authorized officers, enter into a contract with the United States for the purchase of such water.
