The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Washburn and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Riley, seconded. by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
March 28, 1938 and adjourned meetings thereof be approved as read: carried, Riley,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that this being the time for receiving bids for
the construction of an irrigation system in Leaming's Addition, Local Improvement Dis-
trict No. 529, the following bids were received: J. M. DeBlasio $5,437.85; H. J. Adler
Construction Company $5.,975.80; Thos. Dingle $5,.661.00.and Sam Macri $7,215.00., The
bid of J.'M.'DeBla.sio, in the sum of $5,437.85 being the lowest and best bid is hereby
accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to execute a contract for said work
upon the filing of the proper bond therefor:' carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting
aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the bond of J. M. DeBlasio, Contractor for
constructing an irrigation system in Local Improvement District No. 529, in the sum of
$5,437.85 is hereby approved and that the same be placed on file with the City Clerk:
carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that the City Clerk is hereby directed to give
notice to contractors by publication as required_ by law for material consisting of
pipe, fittings, valves pnd other appurtenances to be -used in the construction of irri-
gation systems and additions and extensions to the Municipal Water System of the City
by Local Improvement Districts; said bids to be received on Monday, April 18th, .1938
at 10 o'clock A. M: ca.rried., Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that this being the time for the hearing on Reso-
lution No. C -315 providing for the construction of ?..n irrigation system on Broadway
Avenue, Stewart Street and other streets in the City of Yakima and there being 'no pro-
tests in writing or otherwise to said imnrovement or any part thereof; it is ordered.
that the ordinance creating a. Local Improvement District be passed as finally re4d:
carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -298," entitled, 'SAN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property
in the City of Yakima, Washington, by constructing the necessary pipe lines and appur-
tenances and acquiring the necessary.water and water rights to supply various lots.a.nd.
tracts of land with water for irrigation purposes; establishing a local improvement
district, providing for the method of - payment therefor and creating a special fund",
was introduced by Riley and read by the City Clerk.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -298 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No.- B -298 be passed to its third
reading and read in full: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye- on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -298 be passed as finally
read: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the City Clerk is hereby directed to give
notice to contractors, by publication as required by law, for the construction of an
--irrigation-system on Broadway Avenue and other streets in the City of Yakima, Local
Improvement District No. 530; said bids to be received on-Monday, April 18th, 1938 at
10 o'clock A. M; carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn,, seconded by Clark that we do now adjourn to meet Saturday, April,
9th, 1938 at 10 o'clock A. M; carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting; aye on roll
call.
ADJOURNED MEETING, SATURDAY, APRIL 9, 1938, 10 A. Ito.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Commissioners Washburn and Clark
present on roll call, Mayor Riley absent.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the following payrolls be allowed and the
City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: City Street Dept.' $1,5,59-79;'
Sanitation Dept. $747.00; Parks $166.00; Local Improvement District No. 522 $189.69;
Cemetery $143.50; Cemetery Care $111.00: carried, Washburn and Clark voting aye on
roll call, Riley absent.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that we do now adjourn: carried, Washburn and
Clark voting aye on roll call, Riley absent.
