The City Commission met in.regular session, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Washburn and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Mondday,
January 10, 1938 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, Riley,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.-
Moved by Washburn, seconded by .Riley that the following payrolls be allowed and-the
City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Street Dept. $1,446.86-; Sanitation
Dept. X696.25; Cemetery $111.00; Curb & Gutters Project $80.00; Water Dept. $51+5.80;
Sewage Disposal $91.87: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Wa..shburn, seconded by Riley that we do now adjourn to Friday, January -21st,
1938 at 10 o'clock A. M: carried., Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO..B -269, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. A -988, passed and
approved July 12, 1926, and entitled: "AN ORDINANCE creating a Water-Departmeht, reg-
ulating the operation thereof, providing for the management and control of the same,
providing for rules, regulating and fixing the use and price of water .supplied 'by the
City, providing penalties for the violation thereof a.nd* declaring an emergency ", by
substituting new sections. for Sections 10, 11 and 33 and adding a, new i5ection there -
to.be entitled Section 31 -A ", was introduced by Riley and read by the City Clerk.
Moved by Clark, seconded by 'Mashburn that Ordinance No. B -269 be passed to its second
reading and read by title-only: carried,.Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -269 be passed to its third
reading and read in full: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye-on roll call.

The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Wash-
burn and Clark present on roll call..
ORDINANCE NO. B -270, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE relating to the licensing forthe = purpose
of regulation and revenue, the carrying,of passengers for hire by certain vehicles-in
the City of Yakima, and to the regulation of taxicabs, for -hire cars, sight- seeing
cars; prescribing maximum rates, and limiting the number of,taxicabs; providing for
the inspection and control thereof and for the licensing and control of drivers there-
of, defining offenses, prescribing penalties, and .repealing Ordinances Numbers .A -666,
A -998, A -1006, A= -1225, B -110, B -221, and B -162, and all other ordinances or Parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency ", was introduced by Riley
and rend by the City Clerk.
