The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Washburn
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
December 27th, 1937 and adjourned meetings thereof be approved as read: carried, Riley,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Clark that the following appointments be made to serve
during the pleasure of the City Commission: Harold A. Robinson, Chief of Police; Ray
H. Hare, Fire Chief; Harry L. Olson, City Attorney.; Mrs. P. G. MacKintosh, member of.
the Library Board: carried, Riley, Washburn -and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Pearl Benjamin be appointed City Clerk;
Forrest F. Herring, City Treasurer and Floy Frank, Secretary to the Commissioners, all
to serve during the pleasure of the City Commission: carried, Riley, Washburn and
Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that-the following appointments be made to serve
during the pleasure of the City Commission: E. S. Lueth, Building and Electrical Insp;
E. A. Jensen, Plumbing Inspector; E. M. Hoisington, Sexton of Tahoma Cemetery; :Frank
Harrington, Street Foreman; A. B. Collins, City Engineer; N. A. Gilman, Water Supt.;
Willard Sutter, Park Supt.: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -zOl, TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF YAKINtA, STATE OF
WASHINGTON.
IN THE MATTER OF THE VACATION OF ) RESOLUTION FIXING TIME AND PLACE
"16TH AVENUE 1/4 ACRES" PLAT. ) FOR HEARING ON PETITION TO VACATE
PLAT.
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed by the City of Yakima peti-
tioning that 16th Avenue 1/4 Acres as platted by plat recorded in Bolume H of Plats,
at page 1, Records of the office of the County Auditor of Yakima County, Washington,
be vacated,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION:
That Monday, the 7th day of February, 1938, at the hour of ten
o'clock A. M. on said day, and the office of the City Commissioners at the City Hall,
Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, be, and the same are hereby fixed as the time and
place where said petition shall be heard and determined.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that.notice of said hearing be given and
posted as required by law.
ADOPTED BY THE :CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 3rd
day of January, 1939.

Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Resolution No. C -301 be adopted as read:
carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that the City Engineer having reported- the comple-
tion of the assessment roll in Local Improvement District No. 523, for the construc-
tion of a sewer between Cherry Avenue and Roosevelt and 16th Avenue North and west
line of New Modern. Addition; it is hereby ordered that said improvement is hereby ac-
cepted and the City Engineer authorized to prepare an assessment roll for said dis-
trict and the City Clerk directed to give notice of hearing on said roll for Monday,
January 31st, 19381 at 10 o'clock A. M: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye
on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that we do now adjourn to Thursday, January 6th,
1938 at 1 o'clock P. M: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ADJOURNED MEETING, THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, 1938, 1 P. M.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Riley,and Commissioners Wash-
burn and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Riley that the payroll from December 16th, 1937 to
December 31st, 1937 in the sum of $652.00 on the Water Fund be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants therefor: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting
aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -267, entitled "AN ORDINANCE amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. B -83,
passed and approved February 18, 1935, and entitled as follows: "AN ORDINANCE creat-
ing the A. E. Larson Library Trust, providing for sources of revenue thereof and for
disbursements to be ma -de therefrom, and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith ", was introduced_ by Riley and read by the City Clerk.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -267 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
