The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Temple and Commissioners Washburn and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Temple, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
January 25th, 1937 and adjourned meetings thereof be approved as read: carried, Temple,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -226, WHEREAS, by ordinance it is provided that on the first Monday in
February of each year, the City Commission of the City of Ya,kima,.Washington, shall
pass a resolution prescribing the form of contract for the city. advertising for 'the en-
suing year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City of Yakima, that the
form of contract for the city advertising for the ensuing year shall be In substantially
the form hereto attached and made a part hereof, and the City Clerk is hereby directed
to give notice for sealed proposals for a contract for doing the city advertising for
the ensuing.year by publishing the same in the newspaper doing the'city advertising,
for two successive :issues, which notice shall' contain a general statement of the terms
of the contract to be let, together with the time and place.when said bids will be opened
and providing that any and all bids may be rejected.
. ADOPTED BY THE CITY COPZMISSION, SIGNED AND APPROVED this-1st day
of February, 1937.

RESOLUTION NO. C -22'7, WHEREAS, Yakima School'District No. 7 of Yakima County, Washington,
and E. W. Brackett and Ida, H; Brackett, husband and wife, represent that they are the
respective owners of all of the private property abutting that certain'street which
was deeded to the City of Yakima., Washington, to be used as an extension of South Twen-
tieth Avenue, and more particularly described as follows, to -wit:
The west 25 feet of the West Half of the West
Half of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast
Quarter of Section 23, Township 13 North, Range
181 E. W. M.;
and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of said Yakima School District No.
7 of Yakima County, Washington, to use that portion of the property owned by said
district which abuts said street heretofore described for the purpose of a playground,
and that it will be necessary for the proper laying out and use of said playground to
use the property heretofore described as a street; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of E. -W. Brackett and Ida H. Brackett
to improve that portion of the property owned by then which abuts said street hereto-
fore described, and that it will be necessary for the said improvement to be completed
and for said abutting property to be.of any value to the said E. W. Brackett and Ida H.
Brackett., to use that portion of the property heretofore described as a street which
is abutted by their property; and
WHEREAS, said property above described is of no use to the City
of Yakima, Washington, except as a street; and
WHEREAS, at a meeting of the Board of Directors of School District
No. 7, held November 9, 1936, a motion was duly made, seconded and passed that said
District shall assume the cost of lowering the water and sewer main, said work to be
done whenever in the judgment of the City Commission it shall be necessary or whenever
desired by the owners-of the abutting property; and
WHEREAS, said Yakima School District No. 7 and E. W. Brackett and
Ida H.. Brackett, husband and va.L have petitioned the City of Yakima to make and enter
an ordinance vacating the street above described; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMhTISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That said petition shall be brought on for hearing on Monday, the
1st day of March, 1937, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock in the forenoon of said day, at
the office of the City Commission of the City of Yakima at the City Hall in Yakima,
Yakima. County, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved, this lst day
of February, 1937.
