The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, May 24, 1948, be approved as read: Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the payrolls for the month of May, 1948, be approved and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants in payment therefor: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following payrolls be allowed and the City ;Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Sanitation Dept. $2375.75; Parking Meters $231.85; Garage $132.00; Street $3309.95; !Cemetery $894.80; Irrigation $102.30; Water $2856.15: carried Buck, Bishop and (Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C-781, for the construction of an irrigation system on 18th Avenue North and other streets in said city and several property owners appeared and protested . It is ordered that said hearing be continued to Monday, June 14, 1948 at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the matter of a deed to the school District for the area covered by Parker Field was raised and a form of deed together with an escrow agreement was submitted by the City Attorney and the Mayor and City 'Clerk authorized to execute a deed on behalf of the City of Yakima and deliver the same under the terms of the escrow agreement: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by ;Clark, seconded by Bishop that the City +Clerk is hereby instructed to give notice by publication as required by law for the construction of a sanitary sewer be- ginning at a point on Mead Avenue 146 feet easterly from the east line of 16th Avenue South and extending easterly along Mead Avenue to Rudkin Road and northerly along Rudkin Road to the existing Sewage Disposal Plant of the City of Yakima; said bids to be received on Monday, June 21st, 1948, at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. C -7849 WHEREAS Northwest Airlines Incorporated has notified the City of Yakima of its intention to exercise its option to renew its lease of Yakima Municipal Airport premises, the term of which said lease expires May 31, 1948, and has requested. the City of Yakima to enter into an Extension Agreement of said lease under the terms thereof. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 'CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA : , That the request of Northwest Airlines Incorporated to renew and extend its lease of facilities and premises at the Yakima Municipal Airport for a period of three years commencing June 1, 1948, and ending May 31, 1951, under the terms of the original lease between the parties executed June 1, 1945, be and the same hereby is granted and the Mayor and the(Commissioner of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to execute a good and sufficient agreement extending the term of said lease in accordance with the terms and provisions thereof. r ATTEST: PEARL BENJAMIN City Clerk June 1, 1948 ADOPTED BY THE CITY +COMMISSION this lst day of June, 1948. C -785 , WHEREAS the majority of the major cities and towns in the State of Washington and in the area surrounding the City of Yakima, Washington, have enacted resolutions and proclamations for what is commonly called "Day Light Saving Time ", and WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Yakima has, under date of May 28, 1948, proclaimed that the City of Yakima will resort to Day Light Saving Time effective one minute past midnight June 1, 1948, to continue until midnight August 31, 1948. Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 'CITY COMMISSION: Section 1. That the proclamation of the Mayor of the City of Yakima for the enactment of Day Light Saving Time for the City of Yakima effective at one minute after midnight June 1, 1948, to continue until midnight August 31, 1948, be and the same hereby is approved and ratified and all of the official city offices and functions will observe such Day Light Saving Time during the period herein mentioned® ADOPTED BY THE CITY 'COMMISSION this 1st day of June, 1948. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. B -878 authorizing the conveyance of certain property to Yakima School District No. 7, be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by .Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 598, and there being no objections in writing or other- wise to said assessment roll or any part thereof; It is ordered that the ordinance No. B -879, confirming said roll, be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -879, confirming the assessment roll, covering Local Improvement District No. 598, as, created and established by Ordinance No. B -689 of the Ordinances of -the City of Yakima. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 604 and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll or any part thereof: It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -880 con- firming said assessment roll be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call ORDINANCE NO. B -880, confirming the assessment roll, covering Local Improvement District No. 604, as created and established by Ordinance No. B -708 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima.
