The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Mogren and Commissioners White and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Mogren, seconded by White that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
June 29th, 1943 and adjourned meetings thereof be approved as read: carried, Mogren,
White and Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -576, A RESOLUTION prescribing vacation for City Employees.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That salaried employees of the City of Yakima receiving a monthly
salary shall receive an annual vacation of one day for each month that such employee
shall have been in the employ of the City of Yakima during the year preceding the tak-
ing of his vacation, and'f or which period no vacation has been granted..
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in determining the length of employ-
ment hereunder, one -half month or more shall be considered as a full month, and any
time less than a half month shall be disregarded.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the times of taking said vacation
shall be approved by the head of the Department in which said employee is employed.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 7th

RESOLUTION NO. C -577, A RESOLUTION transferring unexpended State Aid funds to Current
Expense Fund.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima did heretofore, pursuant to Chapter
81 of the Session Laws of 1943, provide for the creation of a special fund to be de-
signated the State Aid Fund, into which fund was placed the monies received by the
City of Yakima from the state of Washington, pursuant to.said enactment of the Legis-
lature; and
WHEREAS, approximately $7,000.00 of said monies have heretofore
been set aside, pursuant to Resolution No. 0-567 for the payment of increased compensa-
tion to the Police and Fire Departments of the City of Yakima, on conditions as therein
set forth; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Municipal Corporations of the State of
Washington has recommended and directed that said State Aid Fund monies be placed di-
rectly into.the Current Expense Fund rather than in-a separate f und;'and
WHEREAS, the'City Commission has earmarked $1,000.00 of said
monies to be expended for the public park program of the City of Yakima during 1943;
now, therefore,
BE IT-RESOLVED---BY THE -CITY COMMISSION OF THE,CITY OF YAKIMA:
That $1,000.00 of the moneys in the State Aid Fund be transferred
to the park fund of the City of Yakima; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the balance of said monies in said
State Aid Fund be transferred to the Current Expense Fund and that as much thereof as
may be necessary be used for the payment of the increased compensation of the Fire and
Police Departments, as provided for in Resolution No. C -567 herein above referred to,
and that the balance of said monies here transferred to said Current Expense Fund be
expended only for salaries and wages, supplies, material and equipment for Police and
Fire protection, health and sanitation, libraries, parks and civilian defense.

of July, 1943.
