The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Mogren and Commissioners White and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Mogren., seconded by White that the minutes of the regular meeting of Tuesday,
June 1,.1943 be approved as. read: carried, Mogren, White and Clark voting aye on roll
call. -
Moved by. Clark;-.-- seconded,.by <Whit.e: that 'this' being the time for the .hearing on ResoluT ;,
tion No. "C- 569,'providing:for the,.construction. -of a cement sidewalk, five:,feet -:in- ;width
on:Lnts-o'to 8, inc., Block 119 Rainier Addition.and there being no objections in
writing or otherwise, to said improvement or any part thereof; it is.ordered that the
ordinance creating a local improvement district be passed'as finally read and the City
Clerk is hereby,a,uthorized to give notice to contractors by publication as required
by law for the doing of said work; said bids to be received on Monday,.June 21st, 1943
at.ten o'clock A. M: carried, Mogren, White and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE.NO. B -589, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of the
west side of South Sixth Street between Adams Avenue and Pacific Avenue by constructing
a Portland Cement concrete sidewalk five feet in width, establishing a local Improve -
ment district; providing for the method of payment therefor,.and creating a special
fund ", was introduced by Clark and read by the City Clerk.
Moved by White, seconded by Mogren that Ordinance No. B -589 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Mogren, White and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by White, seconded by Mogren that Ordinance No. B -589 be passed to its third
reading and read in full: carried, Mogren, White and Clark voting aye on roll call.

ORDINANCE NO. B -590, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE relating to the licensing and supervision
of "Places of Refuge",-defining terms, prescribing the duties of officers in connection
therewith, fixing fees; providing for appeal from certain decisions, defining offenses
and providing penalties; and. declaring an emergency ",. was introduced by Mogren and
read by the City Clerk.

ORDINANCE NO. B -591 entitled, "AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 5 and 10 of Ordinance
No. A -257 entitled 'iAN ORDINANCE creating a Cemetery Trust Fund, A Cemetery Care and
a Cemetery Fund, and defining their uses and purposes, declaring all lands in Tahoma
Cemetery eligible to perpetual care or annual care, "withdrawing certain portions of
said cemetery from general sale and reserving same for sale to purchasers buying with
provision for the perpetual care thereof by the city, repealing Ordinance No. 361, and
declaring an emergency"; and declaring an emergency", was introduced by Clark and read
by the City Clerk.,
