The City Commission met in,regular session, Mayor Riley and Commissioner Washburn pres-
ent on roll call, Commissioner Clark absent.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that on account of the inability, of Geo. W. Clark,
Superintendent of Streets, to be present at this meeting, said meeting be adjourned
and held at the home of Mr. Clark at 602 South 18th Avenue: carried, Riley and Wash-
burn voting aye on roll call, Clark absent.
ADJOURNED MEETING, JULY 29, 1941, 1:C A. M.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Washburn
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
July 21, 1941 be approved as read: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on
roll c11.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Riley that the following payrolls be allowed and the
City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: City Street x$1307.81; Cemetery
$$198.00; Cemetery Care $372.00; Crusher $649.49; Park x$833.48; Sanitation $829.79; City
Street Mtse. $95.07: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn,. seconded by Riley that the following claims be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants on the following funds in payment therefor: Current
Expense 2933.60; City Street $4146.30; Library $388.66; Park $x+37.00; Cemetery $330.34;
L.I.D's $107.25; Irrigation $2 1388-00: 2.11; Water $40 8.36; Cemetery Trust 39.93; L.I.D.
Guarant $4503.20; F. R. & P.. 7.74; Crusher $1718.24; Tennis Court 5651.06; Municipal
Garage 304.11; Water Deposit carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye
on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Riley that the City Engineer having reported the comple-
tion of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 572, said work is hereby ac-
cepted and the City Engineer is hereby authorized to prepare an assessment roll for
said district, and the City Clerk instructed to give notice of hearing on said assess-
ment roll for Monday, August 25, 1941 at 10 o'clock A. M: carried, Riley, Washburn
and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -517, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE declaring circuses, carnivals and tent
shows, when carried on within the limits of the City of Yakima, to be a nuisance and
prohibiting the same; repealing all ordinances in conflict herewith; and declaring an
emergency ", was introduced by Riley and read by the City Clerk.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -517 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.

ORDINANCE NO. B -51&, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE amending Section 69 of Ordinance No. B-
131, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transpor-
tation and their incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescrib-
ing the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses;
providing penalties and repealing certain ordinances concerned with or relating to the
subject matter of this ordinance, and declaring an emergency "; and declaring an emer-
gency", was introduced by Riley and read by the City Clerk.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -518 be passed to its second
reading and read in full: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.

ing and read in full: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.

ORDINANCE NO. B -519, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE amending Section 11 of Ordinance No. B-
386, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE regulating the operation and use of bicycles; providing
for the licensing thereof; regulating bicycle agencies; providing penalty for the
violation thereof; and declaring an emergency ", and declaring an emergency ", was intro-
duced by Riley and read by the City Clerk.

reading and read by title only: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
