The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Washburn and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Rileyy, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
June 16th, 1941 and adjourned meetings thereof be approved as read: carried, Riley,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Riley that the following claims be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Current Expense $105.51; City Street
$275.34; Park $155.70; Cemetery $66.35; L.I.Ds $40.10; Irrigation $15.60; Water $599.70;
Crusher 31.41; Water Deposit $366.00: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye
on roll call.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that this being the time for receiving bids on one
85 -foot aerial ladder truck for the Fire Dept. and one 100 foot aerial ladder truck,
said trucks to be equipped with a 750 fallon per minute pump as specified by the Nation
Board of Fire Underwriters, the following firms presented bids: American LaFrance Foa-
mite Company; The Seagrave Company and Peter Pirsch & Sons; said bids were read by the
City Clerk and award indefinitely postponed: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting
aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the City Engineer having reported the comple-
tion of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 570, said work is hereby ac-
cepted and the City Engineer authorized to prepare an assessment roll for said district
and the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give notice of hearing on said roll for
Monday, July 14th, 1941 at ten o'clock A. M: carried, Riley, Washburn.and Clark voting
aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the City Engineer having reported the comple-
tion of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 573, said work is hereby ac-
cepted and the City Engineer is hereby instructed to prepare an assessment roll for said
district and the City Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing on said assessment roll
for Monday, July 24, 1941 at ten o'clock A. M: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark vot-
ing aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that this beinj7 the time for the hearing on the
assessment roll in Local Improvement District No. 595, providing for curbs and gutters
on 4th Avenue and other streets in the City of Yakima, and there being insufficient
protest in writing, or otherwise, to said assessment roll or any part thereof; it is
ordered that the ordinance confirming said assessment roll and every part - thereof be
passed as finally read: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -512, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering
Local Improvement District No. 565, as created and established by Ordinance No. B -450
of the ordinances -of the City of Yakima ", was introduced by Clark and read by the City
Clerk.

Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to adver-
tise for bids for the Water Dept. for 400 lineal feet of 30" pipe, designed to be cover-
ed with ten feet of earth and gravel, and an internal pressure of five lbs per square
inch, to ether with necessary bands or materials for pointing the various lengths of
pipe, 50� of which will be partly under water; said bids to be received on Monday, July
7th, 1941 at ten o'clock A. M: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -513, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE creating the office of Clerk for the Police
Judge, defining his duties and providing for his bond" was introduced by Riley and read
by the City Clerk.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -513 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.

RESOLUTION NO. C -518, A RESOLUTION authorizing execution of agreement modifying lease
with Central Aircraft, Inc.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima as joint lessor with the County of
Yakima, did heretofore, and on the 19th day of March, 1940, by written instrument, lease
-June 23, 1941
to Herman A. Poulin and A. L. Baxter that portion of the Yakima County airport situat-
ed in Yakima County, Washington, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning 1346.06 feet west and 90 feet
south of the east Quarter corner of Sec -
tion 35, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.;
thence westerly.and parallel with the North
line of the Southeast Quarter of said Sec -
tion 35 a distance of 190 feet; thence
southerly 140 feet; thence easterly 180
feet; thence northerly 140 feet to the
point of beginning;
which said lease was thereafter duly assigned to the Central Aircraft, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, SAID ORIGINAL LESSEES, AND THE ASSIGNNEE of said lease
have requested a modification of said lease in accordance with that modification agree-
ment hereto attached, and. the City of Yakima being willing, to modify said lease as
provided in said modification agreement;.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Yakima that said
original lease above referred to be modified as provided in said modification of lease
hereto attached, and that the proper officers of the City of Yakima be and they are
hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Yakima said modivication agree-
ment in the form attached hereto.
