The City.Commission met in regular session, Commissioners Washburn and Clark present
on roll call, Mayor Riley absent.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
January 13th, 1941 be approved as read: carried, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call, Riley absent.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that there being no further business to come be-
fore the Board, we do now adjourn to meet Tuesday, January 21, 1941 at ten o'clock A.
M: carried, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll-call, Riley absent.

The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Wash-
burn and Clark present on roll -call. '
RESOLUTION NO. C -4013, A RESOLUTION fixing the time for hearing on petition to vacate
a portion of Leaming's Addition.
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Commission of
the City of Yakima, a municipal corporation, praying for the vacation of that portion
of North Fifth Avenue, described as follows:
That portion of the East 70 feet of the
West 270 feet of Lot 3, Leaming's Addition
to North Yakima, now Yakima, lying southerly
and westerly of the State Highway as estab-
lished on the ground on November 25, 1940;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF YAKIMA:
That said petition shall be brought on for hearing and determina-
tion on Monday, the 17th day of February, 1941, at the hour of ten o'clock in the fore-
noon on said day at the office of the City Commission of the City of Yakima, at the
City Hall in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may
be heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as provided by law.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved, this 21st
day of January, 1941..

On account of the absence of Mayor Riley and Commissioner Washburn, no business
was transacted, except the opening of bids for the purchase of new cars for the Police,
Engineer and Street Departments as scheduled; Commissioner Clark ordered that said bids
be read and tabled until Wednesday, January 29th, 1941 before making final awards.

The City Commission met in regular session, Commissioners Washburn and Clark present
on roll call, Mayor Riley absent.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
January 20, 1941 be approved as read: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye
on roll call.
1ovPd by Washburn, seconded by Clark that from the bids heretofore received on January
27, 1941, the following awards are hereb made: Burrows Motor Company, one Ford Sedan
for the Police Department in the sum of 595.34; American Corporation, one Plymouth
Sedan for the Engineering Department in the sum of $763,08. No award was made at this
time for a car heretofore advertised for the Street Department: carried, Washburn anc1-
C1ark voting aye on roll call, Riley, absent.
Moved. by Washburn, seconded by Clark that we do now adjourn to meet Friday, January
31, 1941 at nine o'clock A. M: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
ADJOURNED MEETING, FRIDAY, JANUARY 7.1,. 1941, 9 A. M.
The City Commission met puruant to adjournment, Commissioners Washburn and Clark present
on roll call, Mayor Riley absent.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the payrolls for the month of January, 1941
be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Various Dept.
X3461.43; Engineer 387 50; Fire $6354.16; Police $4564.40; Health $1132.50; F. R. & P.
742.05; P: R. & P. $196.25; Library $741.40; Cemetery $127.57; Park $160.00; City
Street $215.00; Water $3559.85: carried, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call,
Riley absent.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that we do now adjourn: carried, Washburn and
Clark voting aye on roll call,-Riley absent.
