The Annie E. Casey Foundation is a private charitable
organization dedicated to helping build better futures for
disadvantaged children in the United States. It was established
in 1948 by Jim Casey, one of the founders of United Parcel
Service, and his siblings, who named the Foundation in honor
of their mother. The primary mission of the Foundation is to foster
public policies, human - service reforms, and community supports
that more effectively meet the needs of today's vulnerable children
and families. In pursuit of this goal, the Foundation makes grants
that help states, cities, and neighborhoods fashion more
innovative, cost - effective responses to these needs.

SECURE AND LOVING FAMILIES WANTED FOR MORE INFORMATION
In every community across our country, there are
children and youth living in neglect and abuse. These
young people lack the most basic and stabilizing
element of childhood: a secure and loving family.
Positive parental role models and permanent
connections to adults are vital. Without them, young
people face significant emotional, educational, and
financial challenges.
You can help. Teenagers and preteens age 11 to 17* in
the foster care system need loving and dedicated adults
to nurture healthy, long- lasting connections. These
young people need mentors, supporters, advocates,
foster parents, respite care providers, and resource
families— adults who are willing to share knowledge
and experience.
*And siblings in some cases.
