November 29th,1926, and. adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read.; carried, Dud ley,
Hedges and Traub voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO.A -1018, entitled: "An Ordinance fixing the t ire of delinquency of the assess -
me levied. for the payment of the cost and expense of the improvements in Local. Improve
inent District No-418, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for
the payment of the unpaid portion thereof",was introduced. by Traub and read by the City
Clerk.

Z'Iashington, and charged by law with the duty of canvassing the votes at any general
municipal election of said city at an adjourned neeting of a regular meeting of the City
CoEunission held on the 6th day .of" Decerabe'r,1926, do hereby certify that we have carefully
and. completely canvassed. the. returns of the votes cast at the general municipal election
held in the City of Yakima, on the 6th d.ay of Decernber,1926, for the purpose of electing
a LIlayor and. two City Commissioners under and pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 116,
of the Session.Laws of 1911, and we find from the returns and votes cast at said. election

We, therefore, find. and d.ete- 1—mine from the above and foregoing canvass and totals
that the number of votes' cast for Wm.B.Dud.ley for 1,Tayor are 2235; the nuraber of votes
cast fo,r W.,I.Stratton for Mayor are 1343; the number of votes cast for Lillian Biisbh for
Commissioner, are 1944; the number of votes cast for 'Marry Coonse, for Commissioner are
2150; the number of- -votes cast for J.T. Hedges for Commissioner are 2041; and. the number
of votes cast for Henry Traub for Commissioner are 1765::
And. i7: do further find and determine that Wm.B.Dud.ley has been duly elected. Jkayor
of the City of Yakima, and.` that Harry Coonse and J.T. Hedges have be.en duly elected. City
Corrmnissioner.s of the City of Yakima, and, are entitled. to receive certificates of election
according to law.

v7e, the undersigned, members of the City Commission of the City of Yakima,
Washington, having met as a canvassing board. on the first Tuesday following the special
municipal election held on the 6th day of December,1926, to -wit: on Tuesday, the 7th day
of December,1926, at the hour of 9 o'clock A.M. , for the purpose of canvassing the returns
of said. special election, DO HEREBY CERTIFY that we have carefully and. completely canvas�ec

on Monday, December 6th,1926, for and against the proposition submitted. to the voters of
said city,which proposition is worded as follows:
Shall the City of Yakima create an indebtedness in the sum of .$150,000 and issue general
negotiable bonds of the city of Yakima,'Uashington, in the aggregate sum of $150,000, bearin,
interest at a rate not to exceed six per cent per annum, payable semi- annually, said.bond.s
to be payable serially and run for a period of 30 years, so that the various annual maturi-
ties will be, as near as practicable, in such amounts as will, together with interest on all
outstanding bonds, be met by equal annual tax levies for the payment of said bonds and
interest, all of which said bonds, shall be numbered from "1" upward consecutively,' shall be
payable, both principal and interest, at the office of the City Treasurer of the City of
Yakima,�ffashington, or at the Fiscal Agency of the State of Washington at New York City, at
the option of the holder, and. bear such dates and, be in such foss. and. denominations and
exact maturities as the City Comrniss .on may be ordinance prescribe, for the purpose of pro-
viding funds for the improvement of_741nut.Street in the City of Yakima,Washington, by
separating the street and railroad. grades at the Affalnut Street Crossing of the Northern
Pacific Railway Company's tracks in the City of Yakima,VUashington, by the elevation of said,
railroad. tracks and. the construction of e, subway or underground crossing beneath the same
all of which is more fully set forth in Ordinance No-A-1014, as amended by Ordinance No.A-
1015 of said. City;"
and we do find. from said. returns and votes cast at said. special munici -pal election that the

We therefore find. and determine from the above and. foregoing canvass of returns that
the total number, of v %tes cast at said special election was 4,048 and that the total number
of votes cast in favor of "bonds - -Ye;s "was 2,440 arid. that the total number of votes cast
"Bonds - -No" was 1,608 and we further find and. determine from the above and. foregoing canvass
that the said proposition received a sufficient nummber of votes at said special election to
carry the same, and. we do hereby declare and certify that' said proposition carried..
