Moved by Rovig, seconded by Fraser, that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, Septemlber 24th, 1923, and adjourned, meeting- thereof, be approved as read;. carried-, Rovig, Fraser and Marble voting! -aye on roll call: Moved by Fraser, seconded by Rovig, that the payrolls for the month of September,1923, on the following departments be allowed and -the - City ,-.Clerk authorized to issue - warrants thereof; Various Dept., $12.99.13; Engineer's Dept., $1452.00; Police Dept., $2229.00;_ Fire Dept., $3388.35; Health Dept., $871.10,; Feat Inspection Dept - ,•$386.66 and Miscellaneous Dept., $1135.25; carried, Rovig,.Fraser and Marble voting aye.on roll -call. We, the undersigned, members of the City Commission of the City of .Yakima, Washington, having met as a canvassing board on the first Monday following the Special Municipal election held on the 26th day of September 1923, to -wit, on Monday, the lst.day of October,1923.,. at the hour of 9 o'clock A.M. for the purpose of canvassing the election returns of said special election, do now hereby certify that we have carefully and completeli canvassed the returns -of all the votes.cast at said special election for and against the proposition submitted to the voters and do find from the teturns and votes cast at said special election that the number of votes cast in favor and against the proposition sub- mitted is as follows, to -wit: The total number of votes cast in favor of authorizing the City.Commission to levy one mill on the dollar of the assessed valuation of taxable real and.personal property situat within the corporate limits of said city, in addition to that authori.zed.by law for the payment of the estimated additional cost and expense of collecting and disposing of the garbage in said city for the year 1924, and for other current expenses, was Four hundred F% 1 1 I i i 1 1 October lst,1923. forty nine (449) and the.-total-number of votes cast, against said proposition was One hundred fifty - three. CANVASS OF 1`ETTJRNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION held in the City of Yakima,5ashington, 26th day of September,1923. on the ,127 We, the undersigned, members of the City Commission-of the City of Yakima, Washington, having met as a canvassing board on the .first .Monday following the Special Municipal election held on: the 26th.-day of September,1923, to. -wiu-, on Monday, the 1st day of October,1923, at the hour of 9, o'clock.A.M, for. the purpose of canvassing the election returns of said special election, do now hereby certify that-we have., carefully and completely canvassed the returns of all the votes cast.at said special election for and against the proposition submitted to the' voters and do-find from the returns and votes cast at said special election, that the number of votes cast in-favor-and against the proposition submitted is as follows,to -wit: The total number of votes cast :in the precincts: within -the c_arporate limits of the City of Yakima.in favor of authorizing the City Commission to annex additional territory to said.city, was five hundred nineteen (519) and the number of votes cast against said proposition was sixty -two (62) or a total of .five hundred eighty on.e(581). The total number of votes cast in the precinct outside the city-limits and proposed to be annexed to the. .Cit.y of Yakima, Washington; in favor of such annexation was sixty -two (62) and the number of�votes cast ,against such annexation was fifty -nine (59) or a.total of One hundred twenty one votes (121). We therefore find and dtermine from the above and foregoing .canvass that .the .said proposition above set forth received a-sufficient number of votes at said:Special Election to carry said proposition, and we do hereby declare and.c.ertify that..said proposition carried. Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call.. Moved by Fraser, seconded by Marble, that thi -s being the time and place for passing the final budget fixing the tax levy for 1924, and the County Assessor being unable-to give the exact valuation, it is ordered that said budget be laid ove -rr•to .Monday,. October 8th,1923, at 9 o'clock A.I. carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble-voting aye on roll call.
