The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioner,Huey present on
roll call. Huz absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, April.l$th, 1955 and adjourned meetings
thereof, were approved as -read:
This being the time for the hearing.on the.annexation- proceedings beginning at the center
line of Sunset Avenue and 55th.Avenue North ... and the.re:.being no objections in writing or
otherwise to said annexation or any.part the reof;.it was MOVED by Burns, - seconded by
Huey that Ordinance No. B -16$3, annexing.said..property, to the (;ity.of•Yakima, be passed
as read: carried,'Burns, Huey voting aye onroll call.. Huza absent.
ORDINANCE NO. B -16$3 , ' AN-ORDINANCE providing... for...the... annexation by the City of Yakima,
Washington, of certain property contiguous . to the City of Yakima, Washington.
The following recommendations . fr.om. the Planning Commission were .presented for approval or
rejection : - that Lots 9, 10 and the._ W., _40 feet of Lot .11,. Ray's Nob Hill Addition be
changed from "B" Residence District to "CII.Re.sidenc.e..District, the area and height distr'
to remain the same; also that Lo.t.s..13 to 17, inclusive-.Block 90 and Lots 1 to 13 inclu-
sive, Block $9, be changed from "C" Residence.to Business District, the area and height
district to remain the same; also other. property more fully described in -said recommenda-
tion; it was moved by Burns, seconded by Huey that the date set for hearing be on Monday,
May 2nd; 1955 at 10 o'clock A.M: carried, Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call. Huza
absent.
Moved by Huey seconded by'Burns that Resolution No. C -1240, being a Resolution of inten-
tion to construct curbs on Douglas Drive and other streets more particularly described
and set forth in said resolution, be adopted as read: carried, Burns and Huey voting
aye on roll call. Huza absent.
RESOLUTION NO. C -12409 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That it is its intention to improve the following streets by
grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters:
Douglas Drive from 49th Avenue North to Minnesota Avenue;
Glacier Way from 52nd Avenue North to Minnesota Avenue;
Richey Road from 49th Avenue North to 55th Avenue North;
North side of Sunset Avenue from 49th Avenue North to the
west line of The Uplands;
South side of Sunset Avenue from 46th Avenue North to
Bitterroot Way;
49th Avenue North from Sunset Avenue to Englewood Avenue
(excluding the curb and gutter on the East side);
Cul de Sac extending northwesterly from Richey Road, between
49th Avenue North and 52nd Avenue North;
East side of Bitterroot Way adjacent to Block 6, The Uplands;
52nd Avenue North from Sunset Avenue to Englewood Avenue;
55th Avenue North from Sunset Avenue to the South line of
Englewood Park Addition;
all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifi
cations prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed from the above describ
ed improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows:
East 65-feet of Lot-2 and all of Lots 3 to 12 inclusive,. Block
1, The Uplands;
All of Blocks 2, 3, 4, 72 8 and 9, The Uplands;
140 feet of Block 6 adjacent to Sunset Avenue and Bitterroot
Way, The Uplands;
All of'Lots 1 to 6 inclusive, and 17 to 21 inclusive,
Block 10, The Uplands;
All of Lots 1 to 14 inclusive, and 17 to 20 inclusive; also
a portion of Lots 5, 6, and 16, Block 11, The Uplands;
All of Lots 1 to 5 inclusive, and 1$ to 20 inclusive; also
a portion of Lots 6, 16 and 17, Block 12, The Uplands;
Lots 1 to 6 inclusive, Block 13, The Uplands;
Lots 6 to 28 inclusive, Englewood Park Addition;
Lots 1 to 15 inclusive, Ressel Home Sites;
Lots 3 to 10 inclusive, the North 20 feet of Lot 11,
also Lots 12, 13 and 16, Westwood Addition.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the
City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the Gity of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on Monday the 16th day of May, 1955;
which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said
proposed improvement or objections thereto, 'and for determining the method of payment foz
said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hear-
ing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
All costs and expenses'in connection with the proposed construc-
tion of said improvement, including the engineering, inspection, advertising, publicatior
of notices and all other expenses incident thereto, shall.be levied and assessed against
all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as at
described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at
or prior to the date fixed for said hearing, all of the data and other information re-
quired by law to be by him submitted.

An ordinance was introduced and read in full by the City Clerk providing for the expendi-
ture of $1193.82 for witness fees in the case of Wadekamper vs the City of Yakima, which
sum chould not have been forseen at the time.of the passage of the 1955 budget; it was
moved by Burns, seconded by Huey that said.ordinance._be.laid on the table for one week:
carried, Burns:and Huey voting aye on roll call. Huza absent.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that the petition of.Elmer E. Murray and others for the
annexation to the City of Yakima of property beginning at.the intersection of the center
line of Lincoln Avenue with the center line of Crescent Drive, etc., be accepted and
hearing on said petition be set for Monday, the 2nd day of May 1955, at 10 o'clock A.M.:
carried, Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call. Huza absent.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that the petition of William E. OtHalloran, and others
for the annexation of property, including the Yakima Municipal Airport, and other property
more particularly described in said petition, be accepted, and a hearing on said petition
be set for Monday, May 9, 1955, at 10 otclock A.M: carried, Burns and Huey voting aye on
roll call. Huza absent. -
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that the claim of Union Gap for share of operation and
maintenance of the sewage treatment plant at Union. Gap for the month of March 1955, in
the sum of $167.54, be allowed, and a warrant drawn on the City Water fund in payment
therefor: carried, Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call. Huza absent.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey that we do now adjourn: carried, Burns.and Huey voting
aye on roll call. Huza absent.
