The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns 'and Commissioners Huey and Huza
present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, April 4th 1955, and recessed meeting
thereof were approved as read.
This being the time for the hearing on Resolution No.;C -1229, providing for the con-
struction of alley paving in Block 28, City of Yakima, and Block 351, Capital Addition,
and there being a petition of remonstrance filed against the paving of the alley in
Block 351, Capital Addition; It was moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the City Engi-
neer be instructed to check said petition and report the percentage of objection at a
later date. Motion carried, Burns,Huey and Huza voting aye on roll call.
This being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -1230, providing for the construc.
tion of a domestic water system on Nob Hill Boulevard, and other streets more particu-
larly described in said resolution, and there being no objections to said improvement or
any part thereof; It was moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1679,
creating Local Improvement District No. 804, be passed as read. Carried.
ORDINANCE No. B -1679, providing for the improvement of property in the ,City of Yakima,
Washington, by the construction of a domestic water system; establishing a Local Improve
ment District; provdding for the method of payment therefor, and creating a sppecial
fund.
Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that Varney T'. Cornwell Jr. and others, having hereto-
fore filed a petition for the annexation of property beginning at the center line of Sun
set Avenue and 55th Avenue N; thence north along the center line of 55th Avenue N. to th
'south line of Englewood Ave;. thence east along said south line to -the east line of Res -
sel Home Sites; thence south along said east line and east line extended to the center.

Moved by Huey, seconded. by Huza, that Resolution No. C -1235, being a Resolution of Inten
tion to construct a pipe avwer, with the necessary wye branches, etc. on the south line
of West Chestnut Street 100 feet west of 34th Ave. and other streets, more fully describ
ed and set forth in said resolution, be adopted as read. Carried.
RESOLUTION NO. C 71235. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY,COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That it is its intention to improve the lots and tracts of land included within
the following described district by constructing a pipe sewer with the necessary Wye
branches, manholes and flush tanks; all of said improvements to be constructed in full
accordance with the plans and specification to be prepare'd:by the City Engineer and file
with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and specially benefited and assessed
for the above described improvement is situate within the City of Yakima, Yakima County,
Washington, and is described as-follows:
Beginning at a point on.the south line of West Chestnut Street, 100 feet-west of
34th Avenue South; thence southerly and parallel with 34th Ave. South, 91 feet; thence
easterly and parallel with West Chestnut Street to 34th Avenue South; thence southerly
along 34th Avenue South to West Walnut Street; thence westerly along West Walnut Street
to a point midway between 34th Avenue South and 35th Avenue South; thence southerly
along a line midway between 24th Avenue South and 35th Avenue South to Tieton.Drive;
thence westerly along Tieton Drive to 35th Avenue South; thence northerly along 35th
Avdnue South to the south line of.West Chestnut Street; thence easterly along said Bout
line to the point of beginning.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby noti-
fied to appear and present such objection,-if any, at a meeting of the City Commission
to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washing.

All costs and expenses in connection with the construction of said improvement,
including the cost of engineering, inspectinn, advertisingm publication of notices,
cost of acquiring right -of -way easements and all other expenses incident thereto, shall
be levied and assessed against the above described property embraced within said Local
Improvement District as provided by law; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to
submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date herein fixed for said hearing,all
of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. .

a resolution authorizing the City of Yakima to adopt.plans and specifications for the.
construction of a sewage -lift station and pipe lines for said City of Yakima as prepare(
by Stevens & Thompson, consulting Engineers; subject to the approval thereof by the
Washington Pollution Control Commitbeand the Washington State Health Department; and the
City Clerk is hereby directed to call for bids for the construction of said project on

ADJOURNED MEETING, WEDNESDAY, . APRIL 13th, 1955

The-City Engineer having checked the petition of remonstrahce against the paving of the
alley in Block 351, Capital Addition authorized by Resolution No. C -1229, heretofore pre
sented on Monday, April 11th 1955, and said engineer having reported that the total num-
ber of signers amounted to 43.7% and a number of these signers had heretofore signed the
petition in favor of said improvement, leaving a balance of 13.5% against said improve-
ment; It was moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1680, creating Local
Improvement District NO.- 805, be passed as read. Carried. Motion unanimously carried.
ORDINANCBNO. B -1680. An ordinance providing for the improvement of certain property by
grading and paving with asphaltic concrete placed on a crushed rock base; establishing a
Local Improvement District; providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating
a special fund..
Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1236, authorizing.the adoption o
plans and specifications for a sewage -lift station and pipe lines for the Sewer Intercep
for project, be adopted as read. Carried., Burns, Huey & HUza voting aye on f oll call.
RESOLUTION NO. N. -1236. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That the City Commission does hereby approve and adopt the plans and specifications for
the construction of a sewage -lift station -and pipe lines for the City of Yakima as pre-
pared by Stevens & Thompson, consulting engineers, subject to the approval thereof by tb
Washington Pollution Control Commission and the Washington State Health Department; and
the City Clerk is hereby directed to call for bids for the construction of said project;
said bids to be opened at-the meeting of the City Commission on Monday, May 9th, 1955,at
10 o'clock A.M.
