The minutes of the regular r_rleet;i.ng of Monday, January 24th, 1955 and recessed meeting
thereof, were approved as read.
This being the time for receiving bids for furnishing fire insurance coverage on all cit
property, all bids received were read by the City Clerk and filed with the Commissioners
for furthf;r study and awards.

the bid of the Burroughs Corporation in the sum of , 657.31, being- the only one received;
it was Mioveri by Huza, seconded by .Burns that said bid be accepted: carried, Burns, Huza
and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey that the bid of Bell -Nyman Company in the stern of $1,969.
for the nurchase of a truck for the Garbage Department, be accepted as the lowest and
best bid: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.

tion of curbs and gutters on Lots 1 to 16, in the Rice- Dibbert Addition, and there being
no objections in writin;, or otherwise, to said improvement, or any part thereof, it was

assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvel_nent
District No. 783, and provi dint, for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the
payment of the unpaid portion thereof.

1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to
executes the written agreemennt tv�.th Cornell, Howland, Hl-lyes &; Merryfield, for enginfeering
services for the preparation of plans and speci.ficati.ons and the supervision of con-
struction of a covered water storage reservoir and pumping station, pursuant to the term
and conditions therein more fully provided and for the compensation therein prov:id: d,
namely a fee of 6% of cost .of construction of said reservoir and pumping, station; a copy
of said agreement being; attached hereto.
2. The Mayor an,_1 City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute

Pacific Northwest Company, in the sum of $8,35..00 for services in connection with financ
advice for the proposed sewerage revenue bonds and authorizing the Mayor and the City
Clerk to enter into an agreement with said firm for such services on behalf of the City
of Yakima, be adopted as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C-1206, I�,JTHEREAS, the bid of Pacific Northwest Company in the sum of
,§,,,835-00 for the services hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid received by the
City of Yakima for said services; and an emergency exists and it is necessary that said
services be performed as soon as possible i-n order that said bonds may be expeditiously.

That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute th
written agreement with Pacific Northwest Company for the performance of financial advis-
ory services as therein more fully provided in connection with the proposed sewerage
revenue bond issue;,of said city, for the agreed compensation in the sum of $835-00; and
the appropriate city officials are hereby authorized and directed to do any and all thing
necessary for the performance of said agreement on the part of said city and to pay said
agreed compensation out of the proceeds of sale of said bond issue when received by said
city.

an instrument man for the Engineering department, and providing for the transfer of funds

RESOLUTION NO. C-1207, WHEREAS, The budget of the City engineering department for 1955
as shown by Ordinance No. B-1606 contains these items: "Assistant Engineers, $19,1.�00.00,
I Instrument Man, $4,020.0011; and it appea-1-iin,g, that subsequent to the adoption of said
budget it has been ascertained that in order to have the services of a competent instru-
ment man for said department it will be necessary to pay the sum of $350.00 per month, or
a total of 84,200.00 annual salary during 1955; and. it appearing that by reason thereof
an emergency exists;.now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY C0114MIISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That the sum of $180.00 is hereby transferred. from the said
"19,400.00 item to the said $4,020.00 item for 1 instrument man so as to make the sum of
134,200.00 available for the payment of the 1955 salary of said instrument man for said
engineering department; and the expenditure thereof for said purpose is hereby fully and
in all respects authorized and approved; and the appropriate city officials are hereby
authorized, empowered and d,irectibed to do any and all things necessary or proper for carr
ing out this resolution.
