The minutes of the regular - meeting; of Monday, July 19th, 1954, were approved as read, carried: Burns, Huza,and Huey voting aye on .roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -1136, providing for the construction of curbs and gutters on 35th Avenue North from Summitview Avenue to Lincoln Avenue and other streets, more particularly described in said resolution, and there being objections from several property o-mers on 34th Ave. and other streets in the vicinity thereof; it is ordered that hearing be continued to Tuesday, August 10th, 1954, at 10 :00 otclock A.M., carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that Resolution No. C -114$, providing for the construc- tion of curbs and gutters on Tah -kin Road, be adopted as read, carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1148, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMP,IISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA : That it is its intention to improve Tah -Kin Road by grading, ballasting, surfacing and by constructing concrete curbs and gutters; all of said improvE ments to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be pre- pared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above- describ improvement is.situate in Yakima County, 11ashington, and described as follows, to -wit: Lots 1 and 2 of Marabel Heights and Lots 2 to 6 inclusive of Tah -kin Home Tracts, an unrecorded plat lying in the North half of the Northeast.quarter_of the southwest quarter of the north- west quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section 26, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M. All persons who may desire.to object to said proposed improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the City.Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, t,%jashington, at the hour of 10 otclock a.m. on Monday the 16th day of August, 1952 which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid. improvement. All costs and expenses in connection with the construction of said improvement, including the en *-ineering, inspection, advertising, publication of notices and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that this being the time for receiving bids for the con - struction of a sewer system in the Rice Dibert Addition, L.I.D. No. 775, the following were received: Carroll & Sanislow $2,999.75 3,352.25 4,210.-00 N. L. Kimble $2,583.75 2,995.00 3,406.25 on on on on on on T. & G. Concrete B & S. Concrete Vitrified Clay T & G Concrete B & S Concrete Vitrified Clay The bid of N. L. Kimble on T & G concrete in the sum of $2,5$3. -75, being the lowest and best bid; it is ordered that said bid be accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk authorize( to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work upon the filing of the proper bond as required by law, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey, that Ordinance No. B -1577, granting to the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company, a corporation, the rightto ap -ply to the City of Yakima for a franchise to do a general telephone and telegraph business in the City of Yakima, and to present said franchise to be voted upon by the public at its Primary Election to be held on the 14th of September 1954, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. 511-2: July 26, 1954- ORDINANCE NO. B -15772 AN ORDINANCE granting to the PACIFIC TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY, a Corporation, its successors and assigns, the non exclusive right to do a general telephone and telegraph business within the City of Yakima, State of Washington, and the right to place, erect, lay, maintain and operate in, under and upon the streets, alleys, avenues, thoroughfares and public highways in said City of Yakima, poles, wires cables and. other appliances and conductors for telephone, telegraph and other communica- tion purposes. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza that we do now adjourn to meet Wednesdayy July 12th, 195 at 10 o'clock A.M.y carried:, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. P�ioved by Huza, seconded by Burns that Ordinanc.e No. B -1578, being an ordinance for the expenditure of funds not budgeted in the 1951 budget, for the purchase of materials for an underground conduit for carrying fire alarm signal cable on North First Street, and declaring an emergency, which was introduced at a regular meeting of the 6ity Commission on Monday the 6th day of July, 1954, and read in full by the City Clerk and laid on the table for one week, and on Monday, July 12th was re -read in full by the 6ity Clerk and laid on the table for further consideration, be passed as read, carried: Burns,,-Huza and Huey voting~ aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO.
