The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and Huey present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, May 18th. 19531 were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids for the construction of a sewer in Conrad Addition, L.I.D. No. 750, the following were received: Gallagher and Haller $ 1,919.70 N. L. Kimball 19844.70 Carroll and Sanislo 1,638.20 The 'bid of Carroll and Sanislo was accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk instructed to execute a contract on behalf. of the City of Yakima for doing said work, carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids for the construction of curbs and gutters in L.I.D. No. 752:; the following were received: Joe Brandt Gallagher and Haller DeBlasio Bros. 1,016.55 677.70 643:.81. The bid of DeBlasio�Bros. in the sum of $643.81 was accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work, carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give notice to contractors for the purchase of a Panel Truck for the Fire Department, and a four - door pa.ssenger sedan for the Police Department; bids for both cars to be received on Monday, June 8th 1953, carried: Burris, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on.roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Homer Lee be given an extension of time as an employee of the Water Department from July 1st 1953 to July 1st 1954, carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Attorney is hereby authorized and in- structed to prepare an ordinance amending the Water Code in order to adjust some of the inadequate miscellaneous service charges now in existence, and for such other and further charges as recommended by the City Water Superintendent, carried: Burns, Huey -and Carpenter voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that Resolution No. C -1060 be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -106039 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON: That it is its intention to improve the east side of 26th. Avenue South beginning at.a point 100 feet south of the south line of Tieton Drive and extending south 260 feet by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing a concrete curb and gutter; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications, to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk., The district to be served by and assessed for the above-described improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at a point on the north line of Nob Hill Boulevard 140 feet east of the east line of 26th. Avenue South; thence northerly and parallel with 26th. Avenue South to Tieton Drive; thence westerly along Tieton Drive a distance of 330 feet; thence southerly and parallel with 26th Avenue South to Nob Fill Boulevard; thence easterly along said Boulevard to the point of beginning. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the City Comm- ission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington.. at the hour of 10 :00 o'clock A.M., on Monday the 15th day of June, 1953; which -time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. The cost and expense of said improvement,, including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above des- cribed; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other informati required by law to be by him submitted. No. 730, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1461, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement Distri ct .No. 730, and providinm for the .issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof.
