The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns. and Commissioners Carpenter�andi
Huey present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday May 4th 1953, and adjourned meeting thereof
were approved as read.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that W. H. Glenn be appointed to serve on the Civil
Service Commission to fill the vacancy of George Rankin who resigned as of January 1st,°
1953-;;-said appointment of Mr. Glenn to continue until January lst 1959, carried: Burns,
Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that the City Commission request the Attorney
General of the State of Washington to make a complete investigation of all Parking Meter
transactions pertaining to the City of Yakima from 1942 to the present time, carried:
Burns, Carpenter and. Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the re- hearing on Resoluti
No. C -1054, and it appearing that a, substantial objection of Block 352', Yordy's Supple-
mental Addition, and: Blocks 414 and 415 of Bedkerts Addition, Bedker's Second Addition
and.Capital Addition; it is ordered that said property above described be omitted from
said district, and Ordinance No. B -1457, to improve Blocks 311 and 391 Capitol Addition
and Block 413 of Bed.ker' s and Bedker' s Second Addition, for said improement, be passed as
read, carried: Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call, BURNS NOT VOTING.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1457, AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement o_f , the alleys -in Block
311 and 391, Capitol. Addition; and Block 413:, in Bedker' s- Addition and Bedker ' s Second
Addition; by grading and paving the same with asphaltic concrete placedoon a crushed rock
base; establishing eL Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment
therefor, and creating a special fund.

RESOLUTION NO. C- 10118, WHEREAS, the City of Yakima is the owner of certain premises
commonly known as the Yakima Municipal Airport, and
WHEREAS, the Wert Coast Airlines, Inc., a Washington Corporation, operates; an airline
which has scheduled air service in and out of the.Yakima Municipal Airport, and
WHEREAS, the West Coast Airlines, Inc. desires to enter into a. lease of the airport
landing facilities and the City of Yakima desires to lease its airport landing facilities
to the West Coast Airlines, Inc. for a period of two (2_) years commencing September 28,
1952' and. ending at midnight, September 30, 1954.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HERFRY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and are hereby authorized, empowered and directed
to execute for and on behalf of the City of Yakima, a lease of the airport landing
facilities at the Yakima Municipal Airport to West Coast Airlines, Inc., a Washington
Corporation, for a period of two (2.) years from September 28, 1952, upon the rental and
other terms and conditions as specified in the lease attached hereto and by this refere
made a part hereof.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 11th day of May, 1953.

carried :. Burns, Carpenter and Huey.voting aye.on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C- 10119, WHEREAS, the City of Yakima is the owner of certain premises
commonly known as the Yakima Municipal Airport, and
- WHEREAS, Standard Oil Company of California, a corporation, is occupying a certain
portion of the airport premises for the purpose of selling aviation petroleum products to
West Coast Airlines,- Inc., and said Standard. Oil Company of California, a corporation,
desires to enter into a lease of the premises used by it for tanks and pumps for a period
of five (5) years from December 1, 1952, with a option to renew said lease for an
additional period of five (5) years, and
WHEREAS, said Standard Oil Company of California has paid to the City of Yakima the
sum of Seven Hundred Fifty -Three Dollars ^Thirty -five cents ($753.35) excise tax based on
the gallonage of gasoline sold by said Standard Oil Company to-West Coast Airlines, Inc.
at the rate of one cent per gallon, and
1,,VtEREAS,' the lease betty -een the City of Yakima and West Coast Airlines; Inc. provides
that no such excise tax is due and payable for products sold to said West Coast Airlines,
inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO ?' IIn ISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That the Mayor -Find -City Clerk be, and are hereby authorized, empowered and directed t
execute for and on behalf of the City of Yakima, a lease of a certain ir otion of the
Yakima Municipal Airport premises, the description of which is more specifically set out
in said lease, to Standard Oil Company of California, at.corporation, as lessee; for a_
period of five (5) years from December 1, 1952 -, with an option to renew said lease for
and additional term-of Five (5) years, upon the rental and other terms as specified in
said lease.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said sum of Seven Hundred Fifty- Three Dollars Thirty-
Five cents (753.35) heretofore paid to the City of Yakima by the Standard Oil Compm y of
California, a corporation, be credited against the lease °payments due and payable or to

become due and payable under and by virtue of the lease agreement between the City of
Yakima as lessor and West Coast Airlines, Inc. as le 'ssee, which lease became effective
September 28, 1952,

Moved by Carpenter, that the City Attorney be instructed to draw the necessary papers
authorizing the City Commission to issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to ex-
teed the sum of One Hundred Fifty thousand $150,000".00) dollars, for the purpose of ob-
taining the necessary real estate for the future expansion of the Yakima Municipal Air-
port; for additions to and alterations of the Administration Building at said.�Ai.rport,
and for future development of the south part of said Airport for fixed based-operators
and local fliers. The above motion was not carried for lack of a second.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that we do now adjourn, carried Burns, Carpenter
and Huey voting aye on roll call.
