The: City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns- and Commissioners Carpenter and-
Huey present on roll call.
The minutes: of the regular meeting of Monday April 14th, 1952:,, and ad jpun.ed meeting
thereof, was approved as read,
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids: for
5001 of 2;24° hose;, 5001 of ' 12t1 hose and 501 of ' 31" hose, the following bid was awarded:
Munnell & Sherrill., Inc. on the 224' @- $1.88 per foot, less 2%, discount® Eureka Fire
Hose Company on 1.2 "' hose G 1.20 per foot, less 2% discount, no bid accepted on the
3" hose: carried, Burns., Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns., that the application of the Chief of Police; for
a. room to be built in the basement of the City Hall_ for the purpose of storing uniforms
be granted.- carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call..
RESOLUTION N0, C -1010, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,
WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention to improve the'lots and tracts of land. included
within the following described district, by constructing pipe sewers: with the necessary
wye branches,, drains, manholes, flush tanks and water connections therefor;: all of said
improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifieat ions. to
be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. '
The: district to be served by and specially b enefited by and assessed for the
above - described improvement is situate within the City of Yakima, Yakima County,.
Washington, and is bounded as follows: _
Lots 2" to 11; B1.bck 4;; Lots 6 to 8, Blocks: 5 and 6;, Lots 1. to 20, Block- 7;:
Lots 1 to 20, Block 12: Lots; 1 to 13, Block 13; Lots, 1l to 16, Block 14- Lots.
1. to 1.6.. Block: 15; Lots, 1" to 13), Block 20; Lots 1. to 1.2 Block 2:1;, Lots 6
.,to 13 -.. Block 22; all in the Uplands:, according to the official plat thereof,
recorrdia of Yakima County, Washington.
ALSO; Lot& 1? to 28, Block 2 Gilbert Uplands, according to the official plat:
thereof, records of Yakima County, Washington, also that p:or"tion of the
northeast quarter of Section 21, Township 13> North, Range 18, E.l'V ®112., :Lying
between Sunset Avenue and Bitterroot Way.
All persona. who may desire to object to said proposed improverm nt are hereby
notified to appear And present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the City
Commission to be held at its, office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakimat
County, Washington, at the hour of 10) 1.t clock A. M.,. on Monday, the 12th day of May,
1952;- which time and place are hereby fixed. for the hearing of all matters relating to
said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the-method of
payment for said improvement ;; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due :notice
of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The: cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring
right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices,
and all other expenaes,incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all
of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as; provided by law and as
above described ;; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City
Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and
other information required by law to be by him submitted.

RESOLUTION N0. C- 1011., BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,
WASHINGTON.
That it is its intention to improve Broadway, Second Avenue South, Landon
Avenue, Rock Avenue and Ledwich Avenue from Lenox Avenue to Mead. Avenue- also P >rash c
Avenue and Logan Avenue from Broadway to Vbelker Avenue, by grading, ballasting,
surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters:;, concrete walks are to be con-
structed on both sides. of Broadway; all of said imp? ovements to be constructed in full
accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and
filed with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and wss;essed for the above - described, improve-
ment 'is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and describe& as follows, to -wit:
Beginning; at the intersection of Broadway and Lenox Avenue, thence easterly
along Lenox. Avenue to a point 140 feet east of Ledwich Avenue; thence south-
erly and parallel with Ledwich Avenue to the north line of Lot 8 Terminal
Addition ;; thence easterly along said north line to the east line of
T'erminal Addition; thence southerly along said east line of Voelker Avenue
to the north line of Lot 15, Edwards Addition;; thence westerly to a point
midway between Voelke r Avenue and Ledwich avenue; thence southerly and
parallel with Ledwich Avenue: to the north line of Lot 1'0,, Hackett ®s Sub-
division No,. 2;; thence⢠easterly along said north line to Voelle r Avenue;
thence southerly to the north line of Lot 15 Homer Boggess Half Acre Tract
No. 1- thence easterly along said.north line to the east line of said addition;
thence southerly along said 'east line to Mead Avenue- thence westerly along
Mead Avenue to a point midway between Landon Avenue and First Avenue South;

along Mead Avenue to a point midway between Broadway and Fourth Avenue South;
thence northerly parallel with Broadway to Lenox Avenue ; °. thence easterly
along Lenox: Avenue to point of beginning. Except from the above- rdescribed
district the following- Lots. 13 to 118 of Forgues Plat, the east half of

RESOLUTION NO. C -1012, WHEREAS, Article 5 of Ordinance No. B ®131,; passed by the City
Commission of the City of Yakima on the 26th day of February, 193'6, and amendments
thereto; provides, among other things, that the City Commission may determine the
location and size of, and by resolution establish loading zones and-passenger zones at
hotels,, and fix the hours during which such zones, shall_ be maintaine& open; and shall.
cause the same to be marle d vt th appropriate signs;; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the preservation of public:. safety, to e=stablish
a loading zone on South 4th Street and to establish passenger zones for all hours, of
the day and night, in front of the Donnelly Hotel, Yakima Hotel, Tieton Hotel,, Milner
hotel, Roza Hbtel, and Commercial Hotel, in the City of Yakima.; nowr, therefore9
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA
That the area beginning at the south alley line on the west side of South:
4th Street, thence south 17 feet, is hereby established as a loading zone, and the
Commissioner of Public. Works is hereby directed to install appropriate signs to indicate
said zones&
That the a rasa beginning at a point 122; feet north of the northcurb line on
East Chestnut Street on the East side of South 2nd S'treeta thence north 26 feet, is.
hereby established as:a passenger zone, for all hours: of the day and night; and the
Commissioner of: "Public Works is hereby directed to install appropriate signs indicating
said cone.
That the area beginning at a point 96 feet south of the south curb line of
Yakima Avenue on the west side of 3rd Street, .thence: South 26 feet, is hereby established
ma a, passenger zone, for all hours; of the day and night; and the Commissioner of Public
Works,is hereby directed to install appropriate signer, indicating said: zone.
T'hat the area beginning 76 feet_. from the east curb line on South lst Street
on the south side of I ast Chestnut Street, thence east 26 feet, ishereby astablishedC as:
a passenger zone, for all hours: of the day and night; and the Commissioner of Public
Works is hereby directed to install appropriate signs indicating said zone..
That the area beginning at a point 93 feet north of the north curb line of
Yakima Avenue on west side of North lst Street, thence ncr th 22 feet, is hereby establis-
hed as a passenger zone, for all .hours of the day and night; and the Commissioner of
Public Works is hereby directed to install appropriate signs: indicatins said zone.
Tliat the area be.gi.nning at a point 35 feet west from the west curb line of
North lst Street. on the South side of East "A" Street, thence 21 feet west, is hereby
established as.-.a passenger zone, for all hours of the day and night; and the
Commissioner of Public Works. is hereby directed to install. appropriate signes indicating
said zone.
That the area beginning at a point 108 feet east of the east curb line on
South 3rd Street on the south side of East Yakimw Avenue, thence 37 feet east, is
hereby established as a passenger zone, for all hours of the day and night; and the
Commissioner of P=ublic Works: is hereby directed to install.,appropriate signs: indicating
said zone.
