October 30, 1950
The Lity 'Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter
and Huey present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, October 23rd, 1950, were approved as
read.
Moved by Huey, seconded by 1arpenter, that this being the time fo_r recelvinc, - 1L.,ds on
the North Grandview Sewer District, L.I.D. 709, the following were received:
G. G. Teskey $992.50 and J. M. Denlasio 4'804.75. The bid of J. M' DeBlasio was
accepted and the T�Iayor and City `Clerk authorized to execute a .contract on behalf of
the City of Yakima for .doing said work, upon filing the proper bonds. therefor: carried
Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye on roll call. .
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on Resolu-
tion No. C -935, .providing for the vacation of all streets and alleys lying within the
property east of the Naches and Cowiche Canal west of 19th A -venue S.outh, north of
Tieton Drive and south of West Chestnut Street, .said hearing is hereby-postponed to
Monday, November 6, 1950, at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting
aye on roll call -..
ORDINANCE NO. B -1192, amending Section 71 -a of Ordinance No. 8 -131, entitled: "AN
ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and..tra-rispor tat ion and- their in-
cidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; pres'crib.ing the_ powers and
duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses, providing penal-
ties and repealing certain ordinances concerned with.or relating to the subject matter
of this ordinance, and declaring an emergency "; as amended by Ordinances No. B -571,
B -726, B -956, B -1068, and B -1186, and declaring an emergency.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No.-B -1192, relative to parking meters,
etc., be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. !C -940, WHEREAS ! Article 8 of Ordinance No., B -131, passed by the 'City
Commission of the City of Yakima on the 26th day of February, 1936, and amendments
thereto; provides among other things that the 'City Commission shall, by resolution,
designate locations for parallel parking as they in their discretion may deem necess-
ary, and shall cause the same to be marked with appropriate signs or markers; and
WH:REAS, it is. necessary for the preservation of public safety,
to designate parallel parking locations; now, therefore,
BE' IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE °CITY OF YAKIMA:
That both sides of South Third Street from Walnut Street to
Spruce Street, in the City of Yakima, are hereby designated locations for parallel park -
ing.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 30th day of October, 1950

Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -940 be adopted as read:
carried Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -941, WHEREAS, Section 3 of Ordinance No. B -731, passed by the City
Commission of the City of Yakima on the 18th day of September, 1946, provides among
other things that the City Commission may declare by Eesolution - that public convenience
requires service on any street or streets within the Lity of Yakima where the Yakima
Valley Transportation Company, a corporation, does not provide such, service; and that
the City Commission may order and direct the Yakima Valley Transportation Company, a
corporation, to institute such new and additional service; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Commission that public
convenience requires bus service from the intersection of Tieton Drive and South 28th
Avenue, for a distant -e of 200 feet west on Tieton Drive, and from the intersection of
Tieton Drive and South 28th Avenue, a distance of 300 feet north. on Mouth 28th Avenue;
now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKITvIA:
That public convenience requires bus service from' the intersect-
ion of Tieton Drive and South 28th Avenue, for a distance of 200 feet west on Tieton
Drive, and from the intersection of Tieton Drive and South 28th Avenue, a distance of
300 feet north on South 28th Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Yakima Val-ley Transportation
Company, a corporation, be and it hereby is ordered and directed to install the new
service as above described.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be deliv-
ered to the Superintendent or Manager in charge of the Yakima Valley Transportation
Company's operations in Yakima, Washington.
