HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/09/1950 Business Meeting1 1 1 October 9, 1950 The City.'Commission met in regular-session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners 'Carpenter and Huey present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, October 2, 1950, and adjourned meetings thereof -;' were approved as read. RESOLUTION NO. C -937, WHEREAS, Article 8 of Ordinanc6 lio. B -131, passed by the City. Commission of the City of Yakima on' the 26th day of February,. 1936, and amendments thereto; provides, among other things, that the City - Commission shall �` , by . esolution, designate locations for parallel parking, and set aside non- parking zones as they in their discretion may deem necessary; and shall cause the same to be,-marked with appro- priate signs or markers; and WHEREAS, , it is necessary for the. preservation of public safety to designate parallel parking locations, and to set aside additional non - parking zones in the City of Yakima; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY. COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That both sides of South Second Avenue at the intersection with Division Street, for a distance of 300 feet North of said intersection, in the City of Yakima, are hereby designated locations for parallel parking. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY ,COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the 1vorth side of Division Street at the intersection of South Eleventh Avenue, for a distance of 100 feet, of which 50 feet is East ' and 50 feet is West of said intersection; is hereby set aside as a non - parking zone. B -1173, confirming the assessment roll covering Local'Improvement District No. 658 as created and established by Ordinance.No. B -994 of the Ordinances of the City of _Yakima. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I..D. No. 661, and there being no objections in writing or other- wise to said assessment roll or any part thereof: It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1174 confirming said roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1174, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 661 as created and established by Ordinance No. 8 -1007 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on .the' assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 666, and there being'no objections in writing or other- wise to said roll or any part thereof: It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1175 con- firming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCt NO. B -1175, confirming the assessment roll covering Local-- Improvement Di,str'fct No. 666 -as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1015 of the Ordinances of� the 'City of Yakima. Moved by Burns, seconded by huey; that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 690, and there being no objections in writing or other- wise to said assessment roll or any part thereof: It -is' ordered that Ordinance No. B -1176 confirming said assessment roll and every part -- thereof -be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -11761 confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 690 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1120 of the Ordinances of the 'City of - Yakima Moved by • Burns, seconded by Huey, that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 691, and there being no objections in writing or other- wise to said assessment .roll or any part thereof: It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1177 confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter. and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1177, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 691 as created and established by Ordinance No. 8 -1121 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that this being, the time for the hearing on Resolu- tion No. C -933, providing for the construction of concrete curbs and gutters on 34th Avenue North from Summitview Avenue to Jefferson Avenue, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said improvement or any part thereof: It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1178 creating L.I.D. No. 707 be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. 97 19Q hi October 9 1950 ORDINANCE NO. B -11789 providing for the improvement. of certain property by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that this being the time for the hearing on Resolu- tion No. C -932, providing for the construction of a domestic-water system in what is known as "27th Avenue North and Englewood District" and there being no objections to said improvement or any part thereof: It is ordered that Ordinance No.-B-1179 creating L.I.D. No. 708. be passed a "s read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1179, providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of a domestic water 'system; establishing a Local Improvement District; providing for the method of payment therefor and creating a special fund. Moved by Burns., se.conded by Carpenter, that Ordinance No. B -1180 repealing Ordinance No. B -1143 be pa.ssed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO.,B -1180, repealing Ordinance No. B -1143, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE creat- ing a special fund, to be known as the "Municipal Airport Operating and Maintenance Fund "; providing for the payment of moneys into said fund, and the purposes for which the _same may be used; and declaring an emergency." Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that we do now adjourn to meet Wednesday, October 11, 1950, at 10 otclock A.M; carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ADJOURNED MEETING, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 1950 The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huey and .Carpenter present on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by -Huey, that Ordinance No. B -1181, amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. B -1169, be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO.. B 1181,, amending Section 5 of Ordinance B -1169, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of certain property by grading,.ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; establishing a Local Improvement'District,. r providing for the method of payment therefo, and creating a special. fund." Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City `lerk is hereby instructed to give notice to contractors for the construction of a sewer on Lots 1 to 6, Hunsingerls Addition, L.I.D. No. 709; said bids to be received on Monday, October 30, 1950, at 10 o'clock A.M. carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
