The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, September 25, 1950, were approved as read. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey that this being the time for the hearing on the 1951 budget; It is ordered that said hearing be continued to Tuesday, October 3, 1950, at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter that this being the time for receiving bids for the construction of curbs and gutters on Broadway Avenue from Pine Street to Lenox Avenue, and the bid of {Columbia Asphalt & Paving co. being-the only bidder on Light Bituminous in the sum of =8,167.14, Asphaltic,Concrete $10,087.80; Upon recommendation of the city Engineer both bids were rejected: carried Burns, Uarpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids on. the curb and gutter district on 30th Avenue South, L.I.D. No. 703, the following were re- ceived: G. G. Teskey $7,619.44 and J. M. DeBlasio $7,441.64. Upon recommendation of the City Engineer, J. M. DeBlasio was awarded the contract in the-sum of $7,441.64, and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the !City of Yakima for doing said work upon filing of the proper bond as provided by law: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. C. -935, RESOLUTION FIXING TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING WHEREAS, YAKIMA SCHOOL DISTRICT N0. 7, a municipal corporation of Yakima County, Washington, METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT OF YAKIMA, a.municipal cor- poration, and E. W. BRACKETT and IDA H. BRACKETT, husband and wife, have petitioned the Mayor and the City Commissioners of the City of Yakima for the vacation of streets and alleys in said city, described as follows, to -wit: All streets and alleys lying within the property which lies easterly of the 1aches and Cowiche Canal, west of Nineteenth Avenue South, north of Tieton Drive and south of West Chestnut, all being streets in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, said property being located in the South Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section Twenty - Three, Township Thirteen North, Range Eighteen, E.W.M. WHEREAS, it is necessary to fix the time and place for hearing said petition, said hearing to be not more than sixty (60) days nor less than twenty (20) days after the date of passage of this resolution. NOtJJ, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said hearing be held at the City Hall, Yakima, Washington, on the 30th day of October, 1950, at 10 o'clock A.M. on said date, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and she hereby is authorized and directed to post notice of said hearing in three of the most public places in the City of Yakima, and a like notice in a conspicuous place in the portions of said streets and alleys above described. C -936, WHEREAS, Article 3.of Ordinance No. A -1228, passed by the City Commission of the ,City of Yakima, Washington, on the 22nd day of September, 1930, as amended by Ordinance No. B -131, passed by the City Commission of the 'City of Yakima on the 26th day of February, 1936, and .amendments thereto; provides, among other things, that the City Commission siall, by Resolution adopted by majority vote, deter- mine and designate the character, 'type and location of all official traffic signs and traffic control signals hereafter to be placed upon the streets, alleys and public places of the City of Yakima; .and. It is necessary for the preservation of public safety to deter- mine and designate certain traffic signs and traffic control signals at various street intersections in the :City of Yakima; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the following official traffic signs and traffic control signals be placed at the intersection of-the following-named streets, to -wit: A stop sign on the Northwest corner-of the intersection of South 2nd Avenue and Division Street; A stop sign on the Southeast corner of the intersection of South 4th Street and Adams Street; A stop sign'on the Southeast corner of the intersection of South 6th Street and Chestnut Street; A stop sign on the 1�orthwest corner of the intersection of South 6th Street and Chestnut Street.
