Ttie minutes of th.e. regular meeting of Monday, . September 23, 1950, were approved-as read. Moved by Huey,, seconded by. Burns that. this being, the time for the heari. ng on Z- esolu- tion No. C -929, providing for the improvement of South Sixth Avenue from Lenox. to Viola, and there being no objections in writing?; or otherwise to said improvement or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance Rio. B -1171, creating L.I.D. No. 706, be passed as read: carried Burris, Carpenter. and Huey voting aye on roll call.-: ORDINANCE; NO. B -1171, providing. for tree .improvement of certain property by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; establishing - a Local Improvement District., providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund. Moved by Huey, seconded�by Carpenter that this being the time for receiving bids on Curbs and Cutter District on South First Avenue, L.I.D. No. .702, the following were received: G. G. Teskey ?$26,.76:1.74 and Joe Brandt 26, 514.65. The bid of Joe Brandt was accepted and the:I4'layor and City Clerk authorized to,enter into a contract on-.be- half of the City of Yakima with said Brandt, upon filing of the proper bond as required by law: carried Burns, Carpenter, -and Huey voting aye on roll call: Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that the City Engineer having reported the completion of the improvement in L..I.D,. 692, and fil 'ed the assessment roll with the City Treasurer; It is ordered that.said roll be accepted and the City Clerk instruc.ted to give notice of hearing on said roll for Monday, October 16, 1950, at 10 o'clock A.M.- carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION .NO. 'C -934, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, ATNI : That it is its intention to improve the lots and tracts of land included within the following described district by constructing pipe sewers with the necessary wye branches, drains, manholes, flush tanks and water connections therefor; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with-the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the 'City Clerk. The district to be served by and specially benefited by and assessed for the above described improvement is situate within the City of Yal.�ima, Yakima County, . Washington, and is bounded as follows: Lots 1;to 6 of Hunsinger's Addition to Yakima, lr'Jashington. All persons who may desire to object to.said proposed improve- ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, 'dVashing ton, 'at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M., on Monday, the 16th day of October, 1950; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk-is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. The cost and' expense of said improvement,.'including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveJTing, advert-ising,' publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that the bids heretofore received for a speedloader and tabled for further investigation is hereby awarded to the Modern Machinery Co. in the sum of 49600,00 plus sales tax in the sum of x'288.00: carried Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye on roll call.
