The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, July 17, 1950, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -914 providing for the construction of curbs and gutters on 27th Ave. South and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said improvement or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1156 creating Local Improvement District No. 699 be _passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -11561 providing for the improvement of certain property by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund. Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter that this being the.time for receiving bids for the sale and removal of the old Control Tower building and shed and moving the old Weather Bureau at the Airport. The following were received: Johnny Beautrow on moving Weather Bureau $385.00; W. W. Pettyjohn $825.00; Oscar Daniels $75.00' for old Control Tower and $350.00 for moving the Weather Bureau. The bid of Oscar Daniels was accepted A for moving building in the sum of $350,00.. The bid of Donald M. Gleason in the sum of $132.17 was accepted for the. old Airport Tower and small plywood building: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Burns,, seconded by .Carpenter that this being the time for receiving bids for the sale of equipment in the Sanitation Department and there being only one bid submitted by.the Superior Concrete Products Co. for an exchange of 500 yards of crushed rock for same equipment: It is ordered that said offer be rejected :carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that Resolution No. C -920 relative to retirement of certain employees was adopted as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. tC -920,. WHEREAS, two employees of the City of Yakima, to -wit: ARTHUR B. COLLINS AND ROBERT BAYNE, are subject to retirement on a account of having reached retirement age; and WHEREAS, the said employees are holding responsible positions in the City government, and cannot be satisfactorily replaced by trained personnel at this time; and WHEREAS, it is for the best interests of the City that the above named two employees be retained in their present positions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO1RMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON: That the retirement time of the two employees above named be extended indefinitely; but not later than the following dates for each of said employees; ATTEST: PEARL BENJAMIN City Clerk For Arthur B.Collins, not later than July 1, 1951; For Robert Bayne, not later than September 1, 1951; ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, this 24th day of July, 1950. C -921 Street and Beech Street. ) — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — 11THEREAS; Ordinance No. B -998 was passed by the City Commission of the City of Yakima, signed and approved on March 21, 1949, vacating a street described as follows, to -wit: That part of South 8th Street in the City of Yakima, Washington, between Maple Street and Beech Street; and WHEREAS, said Ordinance provided that the Ordinance would be in full force and effect at such time as the Yakima School District #7 shall commence the construction of school buildings and appurtenances on said vacated street area; and WHEREAS, Yakima School District #7 has commenced the con- struction of a school building and appurtenances on said vacated street area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE .", r7 i d9 . BURNS Mayor BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY iCOMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, Section 1. That the City of Yakima shall enter into an amend- ment to the agreement (.original Resolution No. C -849) for the purpose -of obtaining Federal aid in the development of the Yakima Municipal Airport and that such agreement shall be as set forth herein. Section 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized, empowered and. directed to execute said grant agreement in sextuplicate on behalf of the City of Yakima and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to impress thereon the official seal of the City of Yakima and attest said execution. Section 3. The City of Yakima specifically ratifies and adopts all statements, representations, warranties, covenants and agreements contained in the project application and the sponsor's assurance agreement. Section 4. A copy of the amended grant agreement referred to herein and attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof as fully as tho�_Lgh the same were set forth in detail in this resolution. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, proposed plat of a portion of the known as "Rose Park ", and there b or any part thereof, comprised in and every part thereof be adopted voting aye on roll call. that this being the time for the hearing on the NV'!4 of the STN! of the N11V4, Section 23 -13 -18 E.W.M, wing no objection from property owners in said area said plat; It is ordered that said proposed plat as proposed: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey Moved by Burns, seconded by ;Carpenter that we do now adjourn: carried Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye on roll call.
