The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, July 3, 1950, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by 'Carpenter that this being the time for receiving bids on the Lincoln Avenue Curb and Gutter District, L.I.D. No. 693, the following were received; Joe Brandt $13;871.45, J. M. DeBlasio $13,808.28 and C. & E. Construction Co. $119,662.70. Upon recommendation of the City Engineer, the bid of J. M. DeBlasio in the sum of. $13,808.28 was accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima, upon filing of the proper bond as required by law: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns that an ordinance relative to monies received by the State in the sum of $424.85 for use by the Public Library and which could not have been forseen when the 1950 budget was prepared and used for said purpose, be introduced and laid on the table for one week: carried Burns, 'Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter that the petition heretofore presented by property owners for annexation of property bounded on the North by West Walnut Street, on the east by South Hillcrest, on the soutr! by Tieton Drive and on the west by the west line of South Glenn Drive, is hereby denied: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey that this being the time for the hearing on the Anna Rose petition for annexation to the City of Yakima of the W2 of the SE1 of the NEB of Sec 27 -13 -18 E.VV.M, and there being no objection to said annexation, or any part there- of; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1151 annexing said above described property, be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter. and Huey voting aye on .roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -11512 providing for the annexation, by the City of Yakima, Washington, of certain property contiguous to the present boundaries of said City. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -912, providing for the construction of curbs and gutters on Cornell Avenue, from Lenox to Mead, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said improvement or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1152, creating local improvement district No. 596, be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1152, providing for the improvement of certain property by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund. Moved by Huey, seconded by 3urns that .Resolution No. C -916 fixing the time for hearing for the construction of paving allays, in the City of Yakima, be adopted as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -916, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMP,4ISSION OF THE CITY OF YAi�IMA, INASH: That it is its intention to improve the alleys in Blocks 112, Yakima; 148, Eastern Addition; 411, Capitol Addition; 13, 14 and 15, iaiilroy' s Plat; between 25th Avenue South and 26th Avenue South from Tieton Drive to 'Nest Walnut Street and the alley immediately west of the East half of Lot 7 of Allan's Acre Tracts; by urading and paving the same with asphaltic concrete placed on a gravel base, all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above described im- provements is described as follows, to -wit: All the lots in Blocks 112, Yakima; 148, Eastern Addition; 411, Capitol Addition; and 13, 14 and 15, Milroyts Plat; Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, Terrace Addition; Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, Block-1, Tieton Terrace Addition; Lots 1 to 5 inclusive, Block 1, Allant s Subdivision; and the Vilest 103 feet of Lot 6 and the East half of Lot 7 of, Allant s Acre Tracts. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, WWashington, at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M., on Monday, the 31st day of July, 1950, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to.give due notice of said nearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. The costs and expenses of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. RESOLUTION NO. 'C -917, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OTi TTHE CITY OF YAKIMA, WNT: That it is its intention to improve 27th Avenue North from Englewood Avenue to Wally Lane, and Wally Lane from 27th Avenue North to 26th Avenue North, by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above des- cribed improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the intersection of 27th Avenue North and Englewood Avenue; thence westerly along Englewood Avenue to the northwest corner of Lot 10 of Englewood Suburban Homes; thence southeasterly along the westerly line of said Lot 10 and the westerly line of Lots 1, 2 and 3 of Wallingford's Subdivision No. 5, and continuing in a southeasterly direction midway between the Power House Road and Wally Lane to 26th Avenue North; thence northerly along 26th Avenue North to the north line of Lot 10 of Wallingford's Subdivision No. 5; thence northerly and parallel with 26th Avenue North to Englewood Avenue; thence westerly along Englewood Avenue to the point of beginning.
