The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, June 26, 1950 and adjourned meeting thereof were approved as read: Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. 682, providing for the construction of curbs and gutters on North Hillcrest Avenue etc, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll or any part thereof; It is ordered.that Ordinance No. B -1149 confirming said assessment roll be pa °ssed as read: carried Burns., Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1149, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 682 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1047 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey that Ordinance No. B -1150, amending Ordinance No. B -224 relative to the Planning Commission, be passed as read: carried Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1150, amending Sections 1 and 2 of Ordinance No. B -224, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE creating; a Planning Commission for the 'City of Yakima, providing for the powers and duties of such Commission, repealing Ordinance No. A -893, and declaring an emergency. ", and declaring an emergency. RESOLUTION PTO. C -914, BE IT RESOLjTM BY THE 'CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, VUN: That it is its intention to improve 27th Avenue South from Arlington Street to Bonnie Doone Avenue, and Bonnie Doone Avenue from 26th Avenue South to 28th Avenue South, by grading,:surfacing and completing the construction of concrete curb's and gutters; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above des- cribed improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the intersection of 27th Avenue South and Arlington Street; thence easterly along Arlington Street a distance of 140 feet; thence Southerly and parallel with 27th Avenue South to the Northwest corner of Lot 6, Shaver Addition; thence Easterly along the North line of said Lot 6 to 26th Avenue South; thence Southerly along 26th Avenue South to the Southeast corner of Lot 25, Shaver Addition; thence Westerly and parallel with Bonnie Doone Avenue to 29th.Avenue South; thefice Northerly along:29th Avenue South to a point midway between Bonnie Doone Avenue and Arlington Street; thence Easterly to a point 126 feet West of 27th Avenue South; thence Northerly and parallel with 27th Avenue South to Arlington Street; thence Easterly along Arlington Street to the point of beginning. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve- ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the 'City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m., on Monday, the 24th day of July, 1950; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters re- lating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining, the method of payment for said improvement; anJ the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring right of way easement s, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expers es incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law aryl as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. C -915, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WN: THAT, WHEREAS, the building owned by the City, formerly used as a Police Station and jail, situate on the West 50 feet of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Block 13, City of North Yakima (now Yakima, Washington), according to the official plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the County Auditor, Yakima County, Washington; is vacant and is not being used for City purposes, and the City has no need for said building for the housing of any City department or City facilities; and WHEREAS, the ,City has received an offer from the Yakima ;Medical Service Association, Inc., to lease said building for a period of five years commenc- ing July 1, 1950, and ending at,,-midnight on June 30, 1955, for a total rental of $15,000.00, $1500.00 of which is to be by way of improvements to said building and the balance in cash, at $250.00 per-month; and HEREAS,.it is necessary to make said building tenantable that 1 i ],I July 3, 19 50 the {City expend necessary funds to repair or replace the roof, to cut out. the steel in the cells and windows, to repair or replace the screens for tree windows in said build- ing, to clean up the rubbish now accumulated in the building, to fumigate the building, to check the furnace in the building, and to remove all heavy locks from the doors in the building; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City of Yakima enter into a lease agreement with,the Yakima Medical Service Association, Inc., a corpora- tion, for the use and occupancy of the City building above described., for the term and upon the conditions hereinabove set out.
