The minut.es of the regular meeting of Monday, June 19, 1950, were approved as read. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey that bids be received for the purchase of a coin sorter and counting machine for tree =City Treasurer's office on Wednesday, June 28, 1950, at 10 o'clock a.m: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by (Carpenter, seconded by Burns that Gladys Richter be appointed Acting Treasurer, to fill the vacancy of Faye Simmons, deceased, said appointment to take effect immediately and to continue during the pleasure of the City Commission: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to give notice to contractors for the construction of curbs and gutters on Lincoln Avenue, L.I.D. No. 693; said bids to be received on Monday, July, 10, 1950, at 10 o'clock a,m: carried Burns, Carpenter and.Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey that in the matter of the annexation of the property bounded on the east by South Hillcrest,on the south by Tieton Drive, on the west by west line of S. Glenn Drive and on the North by W. Walnut Street, a letter in the form of a questionnaire be sent to the various property owners residing within said district as to their views of whether or not they wish their property annexed to the City of Yakima: carried.Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on .roll call. RESOLUTI "ON NO. 'C -913, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WN: That it is its intention to improve the lots and tracts of land included within the following described district by constructing pipe sewers with the necessary wye branches, drains, manholes, flush tanks and water connections therefor; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with'-the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the (City Clerk. The district to be served by and specially benefited by and assessed for the above described improvement is situate within the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, and is bounded as follows: Beginning at the intersection of Summitview Avenue and 35th Avenue North; thence Northerly along 35th Avenue Morth to the South line of Flagg Addition; thence Easterly along said South line to Grandview Avenue; thence Southerly along Grandview Avenue to the North line of Hunsinger Addition; thence westerly along said North line extended to the Northeast corner of Lot 1 of Rice's Plat; thence Southerly along the Easterly line of Rice's Plat to Summitview Avenue; thence Westerly along Summitview Avenue to the point of beginning. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve- ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the 'City of Yakima, Yakima County; Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m., on Monday, the 17th day of July, 1950, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters re- lating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and the !City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. . The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefore as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing; all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter that we do now adjourn to meet Wednesday, June 28, 1950, at 10 o'clock a.m: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call, ADJOURNED MEETING, VYEDNESDAY, JUNE 28, 1950 The City (Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and 'Commissioners Huey and Clark present on roll call. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns that this being the time for receiving bids on a sorter and coin machine for the Treasurer's office, the bid of Brandt Automatic Cashier Co. for a double dial, two bag coin and sorter machine in the sum of $902.00 was accepted as the best bid, and whereas when the 1950 budget was adopted, the sum of $350.00 was provided for said machine in the Treasurer's disbursement, and the price on said machine having advanced in the sum of $52.00; It is ordered that said machine be purchased as an emergency expenditure: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
