The City .Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, May 15, 1950 and adjourned meeting
.thereof were approved as read.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the claim of Vi. T. Foulkes, for damages in the
sum of $336.00, alleged to have been sustained by reason of his basement being
flooded on account of the clogged condition of the sewer; is hereby allowed, and the
City .Clerk instructed to issue a warrant on the Sewer Maintenance Fund in payment for
said damages: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
An ordinance was introduced by Mr. Bishop, providing for funds not budgeted for
construction costs of the Municipal Airport Administration Bldg. for an additional
sum of $24,000.00 which was not provided for in the 1950 budget. Said ordinance was
laid on the table for one week.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on the
annexation proceedings described as bounded on the east by 34th Avenue South,on the
south by Tieton Drive, on the west by South_Hillcrest and on the North by West Walnut
Street, and there. -being no objections to said annexation or any part thereof; It is
ordered that Ordinance No. B -1141 annexing said territory and every part thereof, be
passed as read: 'carried Buc.i�:, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1141, providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima, Washington,
of certain property contiguous to the present boundaries of said 'City.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1142, re- zoning the East half of Lot 8 Ledwich Addition, the property
bounded on the North by Willow Street, on the East by North 5th Avenue, on the South
by a line 150.5 feet South of Willow Street, and on the West by the alley West of
North 5th Avenue and Lots 1 and 2 of Petzel's Addition, unrecorded, all from B residen
district to limited.business district.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop, that Ordinance No. B -11429 rezoning the East Half
of Lot 8, Ledwich Addition and other property more particularly described in said
ordinance, be passed as read: carried Buck and Bishop voting aye on roll call.
Clark not voting.
ORDINAN +CE NO. B -1143, creating a special fund to be known as the "Municipal Airport
Operation -and Maintenance Fund ", providing for the payment of moneys into said Fund
and the purposes for which the-same may be used and declaring an emergency.
Moved by Bishop; seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. B -1143, creating the Municipal
Airport Operation and Maintenance Fund be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and
Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn to meet Wednesday, May 24,
1950, at 10 o'clock a.m: carried Buck, Bishop and 'Clark voting aye on roll call.
ADJOURNED MEETING, WEDNESDAY., MAY 24, 1950
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Clark
and Bishop present on roll call.
Moved by 'Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids on water
pipe, fittings, valves and other appurtenances for the Water Dept., the following
awards were made:--. Items 1, 2 and 3, 6, 8 and 12 C. I. Pipe to U. S. Pipe & Foundry
Co. in the sum of ;45,235.17. Items 4 to 10, Inc, Hugh G. Purcell Co. $925.55.
Item 11, Fruit Appliance Co. $480.00. Item 12 and 13, 14 and 15 and 16 were all
rejected, and the City +Clerk instructed to re- advertise; said bids to be received on
Thursday, June 1,.1950, at 10 a.m: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn: carried Buck, Bishop and
Clark voting aye on roll call.
