The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, April 10, 1950, were approved as read.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the letter prepared by the City Attorney relative
to temporary occupancy by the Northwest Airlines for space in the new administration
building be approved, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign said letter in
accordance with this motion: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution
No. C -901, providing for the construction of curbs and gutters on Lincoln Avenue and
other streets i n s aid district, and there being insufficient protest of the property
owners against said improvement or any -part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No.
B -1136 creating a local improvement district be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop
and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANcCE NO. B -11361 providing for the improvement of a portion of Lincoln Avenue in
the City of Yakima by grading, ballasting,' surfacing and constructing concrete curbs
and gutters and'by constructing two reinforced concrete bridges across the Naches and
Cowiche °Canal; establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of
payment therefor, and creating a special fund.
RESOLUTION NO. C -904, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY 'COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKITVA, WASH:
That it is its intention to improve the following streets by
grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters on Fourth
Avenue South from Lenox Avenue to Viola Avenue, all of said improveme nts to 'be construc-
ted in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City
Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above-described
improvements is situate in Yakima `County, Washington and described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at a point on the south line of Lenox A venue,
141 feet west of the west line of Fourth Avenue South,
thence southerly and parallel with Fourth Avenue South
to Viola Avenue, thence easterly along Viola Avenue to
a point 137.5 feet east of the east line of Fourth
Avenue South, thence northerly and parallel with Fourth
Avenue South to Lenox Avenue,, thence westerly along
Lenox Avenue to the point of- beginning. o
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ments are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting
of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 :00 o'clock a.m., on Monday, the 8th day of
April, 1950, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all matters re-
lating to said proposed improvements or objections thereto, and for determining the
method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give
due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvements.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of
notices and all other expenses incident thereto shall be borne by and assessed against
all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as.provided.by law and as
above described, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commis-
sion at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other
information required by law to be by him submitted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 17th day of April, 1950.
