HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/27/1949 Business Meetinga 1 1 1 December 27, 1949 The City Commission met in regular session, .Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and Clark present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, December 19, 1949, were approved as read. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for bids on the alterations and repairs of the Municipal Garage at 117 No. 2nd St., the following were received: Gilbert H. Moen $2,782.50; W. B. Edmiston & Son $4,943.00; Edmund P. Erwen $2,850.00. The bid of Edmund P. Erwen in the sum of .12,850.00 being the lowest -and best bid, said award was made to him and the Mayor and City "CClerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work upon filing of proper bond: carried Buck, - Bishop and .Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1079, providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the 1949 Budget for payment of operation and maintenance expenses for the Fire Department, and declaring an emergency. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -1079 providing for the sum of $1,000°00 not provided for in the 1949 budget for maintenance and operation of the fire department- ;.'Wras passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -10809 providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the 1950 Budget, for the purpose of enabling the Planning Board of the City of Yakima to employ persons for the purpose of preparing a master planning survey for the 'City'of Yakima and declaring an emergency. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. B -1080, providing for the sum of tiJ5,000.00 to be used in connection with the plans of the Planning Board of the 'City of Yakima for the year 1950, was passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on.roll call. ORDINNANCE NO. B -1081, providing for 1950 budget for the payment of salary an emergency. Moved by Buck, seconded by Clark that City Attorney for the year 1950, at a passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop the expenditure of funds not provided for in the for an assistant city attorney, and declaring Ordinance No. B -1081 providing for an Assistant salary of not to exceed $100.00 per month, be and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Clark that Leo (C. Kendrick be appointed to the office of Assistant Attorney; said term of office to begin January 2, 1950, at a salary of $100.00 per month: carried Buck, Bishop --and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn to meet Thursday, December 29, 1949, at 10 o'clock A.-.M: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids on Gas, Oil etc for the year 1950, the bid of True Oil Co. was accepted as the lowest and best bid: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn to meet Friday,-December 30, 1949, at 10 otclock A.M: carried Buck,, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call,. ADJOURNI) MEETING, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 30, 1949 The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Clark and Bishop present on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop, that this being the time for receiving bids on crushed. rock and sand, the bid of Yakima Cement Products Co. in the sum of $4,512.50 was accepted as the lowest and best bid : carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
