November 14, 1949
The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, November 7, 1949, were approved as read.
Moved by ,Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution
No. C-869 for the vacation of the alley in Lot 27, Block 91; It is ordered that said
hearing be postponed for one week: carried Buck, Bishop and (Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by .Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on Resolu-
tion C -870, providing for curbs and gutters in the Broadway district, and there being
a small protest by property owners abutting upon 10th Avenue in said district; It is
ordered that the hearing be postponed for one week: carried Buck, Bishop and !Clark
voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids for con-
structing curbs and gutters on 28th Avenue North, the following were received:
Gallagher and Brandt $8759.12 and J. M. DeBlasio $9067.32. The bid of Gallagher and
Brandt in the sum of yp8759.12 was accepted as the lowest and best bid: carried Buck,
Bishop and Clark voting aye'on roll call.
Moved by 'Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution
C�-871, providing for the sewer on Nob Hill Blvd. and 16th A venue'and there being no
objections to said improvement or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No.
B -1067, creating a local improvement district be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop
and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1067, providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima,
Washington, by the construction of a sewer; establishing a Local Improvement District,
providing for the method of payment therefor and creating a special fund.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1068, amending Section 71 (a) of Ordinance No. B- 131.as amended and
entitled "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation
and their incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the
powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses; pro-
viding penalties and repealing certain ordinances concerned with or relating to the sub -
ject matter of this ordinance, and declaring an emergency".
Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. B -1068 relating to traffic and
parking, be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
R={'SOLUTION NO. 'C -879, WHEREAS, the City of Yakima is the owner of certain local im-
provement district bonds, and warrants;
WHEREAS, offers have been received for the purchase of said bonds
in the particulars hereinafter set forth and it is for the best interests of the City
of Yakima to accept the offers for said bonds and warrants;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON:
Section 1. That the offer of Mr. Erick V. Olson for bonds
numbered 9 to 16, Local Improvement District No. 617, at the price of $1,001.20 per
$1,000.00 bar value, plus accrued interest, be and the same hereby is accepted.
Section 2. That the offer of Mr. David G. Kinney for bonds
numbered 16 to 21 inclusive, Local Improvement District No. 646, in the amount of
$1,001.20 per $ 1,000.00 par value plus accrued interest, be and the same hereby is
accepted.
Section 3. That the offer of the Statewide City Employees
Retirement System for warrant No. 4507, Local Improvement District No. 666, in the
amount of $8,303.45 plus accrued interest, be -and the same hereby is accepted.
Section 4. That the proper officers of the City of Yakima are
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to enter into any and all conveyances
necessary to transfer the title to said bonds to the respective parties mentioned
above upon their payment to the City of Yakima in full therefor in accordance with
their respective offers.

ADJOURNED MEETING, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1949
The City - Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Clark
and Bishop present; on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids for
furniture, etc. for the new city hall building; the following were the bidders:
Rosser and Sutton, Harris Office Supply Co., Mogren- Rounds Equipment, McMullen Office
Equipment, Burroughs Adding Machine Co., McGinnis and Gillilan, Lyon Metal Products,
Inc., R.C. Allen Sales and Service and H. F. Soderling and Co. Said bids to be
taken under advisement and awarding of same, continued for one week: carried ,
Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
