The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and 'Commissioners Bishop.and
{Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, October 24th, 1949, and adjourned meetings
thereof, were approved as read.
Moved by Bishop, seconded byClark that the bids on 3000 barrels of oil, for use for
heating purposes, be'taken under advisement: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye
on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that an ordinance providing for the surn of $1275.00
for material and water stock for the Irrigation Fund, which was not provided for in the
1949 budget, be introduced and laid on the table for one week: carried Buck, Bishop
and 'Clark voting aye on roll call.

ORDINANCE NO. B -1064, providing for the improvement of the South side of Adams Avenue
from South Eighth Street to South Ninth Street by constructing a Portland cement con-
crete sidewalk five feet in width; establishing a Local Improvement District, providing
for the method of payment and creating a special fund. .

$4000.00 for maintenance and operation of the Irrigation Department, which was not pro-
vided for in the 1949 budget be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting
aye on roll call..
ORDINANCE NO.. B -1065, providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the
1949 budget for the cost of additional labor for operation and maintenance of the City
irrigation system, and declaring an emergency.
RESOLUTION NO. C -8759 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMIMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WTI:
That it is its intention to improve Eleventh Avenue South from
Lenox Avenue to Viola Avenue and Logan Avenue from Tenth Avenue South to Twelfth Aven-
ue South in the 'City of Yakima by.constructing concrete curbs and gutters along said
Avenues and by grading, ballasting and surfacing the same, all of said improvement to
be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by
the City Engineer and filed with the _City ;Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above des-
cribed improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington and described as follows,
to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the south line of
Lenox Avenue and the east line of 11th Avenue South;
thence easterly along the south line of Lenox Avenue
141.28 feet; thence southerly along a line midway
between 10th Avenue South and 11th Avenue South to
Viola Avenue; thence westerly along Viola Avenue
325.35 feet; thence northerly along a line midway
between 11th Avenue South and Pleasant Avenue to the
south line of Lenox Avenue; thence easterly along the
south line of Lenox Avenue--to the point of beginning;
also, beginning at a point on the west line of 10th
Avenue South, midway between Viola Avenue and Logan
Avenue; thence southerly along the west line of 10th
Avenue South to a point midway between Logan Avenue
and Mead Avenue; thence westerly along a line midway
between Logan Avenue and Mead Avenue to the east line
of 12th Avenue South; thence northerly along the east
line of 12th Avenue South to a point midway between
Logan Avenue and Viola Avenue; thence easterly along
a line midway between Logan Avenue and Viola Avenue
to the point of beginning.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting
of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima 'County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m., on Monday, the 21st day of
November, 1949, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters
relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the
method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give
due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements,. engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed
against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by
.law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the
City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data
and other information required by law to be by him submitted.

RESOLUTION NO. C -876, WHEREAS, the City of Yakima is the owner of certain local improve
ment district bonds which have been,offered for sale pursuant to resolution and notice,
and
WHEREAS, offers have been received for the purchase of said bonds
in the particulars hereinafter set forth and it is for the best interest of the City of
Yakima to accept the offers for said bonds:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ,CITY 'COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON:
Section 1.,- That the offer of the Liberty Savings & Loan Associ-
ation for the following bonds at the price of $lUO.12 per $100.00 par value plus accrued
interest, be and the same hereby is accepted:

Section 2. That the proper officers of the {City of Yakima are
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to enter into any and all conveyances necess-
ary to transfer the title to said bonds to the party mentioned above upon payment to
the City of Yakima in full therefor in accordance with its offer.
