The City iCommission met in regular session, -Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, October 17, 1949, were approved as read.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids for the
snow plow for the Municipal Airport, the following Were awarded: Cole 'Commercial Co.
in the sum of $3500.00 for truck and mounting blade, Burrows Motor Co. for-truck body
$865.00 and Modern Machine Co. for plow $653.00: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting
aye on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that an ordinance providing for the cost of addition-
al labor and for operation and maintenance for the Irrigation Dept. in the sum of
$4000.00 which was not budgeted for the year 1949, be introduced and laid on the table
for one week: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that an ordinance authorizing the expenditure of
funds not budgeted for 1949, for the employment of an Assistant City Attorney in the
sum of $200.00 for the months of November and December, 1949, be introduced and laid on
the table for one week: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark vct ing aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -8711 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WN.:
That it i,s its intention to improve the lots and tracts of land
included within the following described district by constructing pipe sewers with the
necessary Wye branches, manholes, flush tanks and water connections therefor, all of
said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications
to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and - specially benefited by and
assessed for the above described improvement is situate within the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, and is bounded as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of Nob Hill Boulevard
and Sixteenth Avenue South; thence south along
Sixteenth Avenue South to Grant Street; thence west
-along Grant Street to the southwest corner of Lot 9,
Block 1 of Stone's Addition; thence northerly along
the westerly line of Lots 9 and 2 of said Addition
to Stone Street; thence westerly along Stone Street
to Seventeenth Avenue - South; thence northerly along
Seventeenth Avenue South to Nob Hill Boulevard;
thence easterly along said Boulevard to the point of
beginning.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the
City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M., on Monday, the 14th day of November,
1949, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to
said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of pay-
ment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of
said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, sha -11 be borne by and assessed
against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by,
law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the
City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data
and other information required by law to be by him submitted.

RESOLUTION NO. C -872, WHEREAS, the 'City of Yakima is the owner of certain local im-
provement district bonds which have been offered for sale pursuant to resolution and
notice, and
WHEREAS, offers have been received for the purchase of said
bonds in the particulars hereinafter set forth and it is for the best interest of the
City of Yakima to accept the offers for said bonds:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON:
Section 1. That the offer of the Liberty Savings & Loan Associ-
ation for the following bonds at the price of $1,001.20 per $1,000.00 par value plus
accrued interest, be and the same hereby is accepted:

Section 2. That the offer of Mr's. Velma Schlapkohl° for bonds
No. 13 to 22 inclusive, Local Improvement District No. 612,. in the amount" of 1,001.20
per $1,000.00 par value plus adcrVed interest, be and the same hereby is accepted.
Section 3. That the proper officers of the !City of Yakima are
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to enter into any and all conveyances necess-
ary to transfer the title to said bonds to the respective parties mentioned above upon
their payment to the City of Yakima in full therefor in accordance with their respective
offers.

certain portion of. the Yakima Municipal Airport premises, same being more specifically
described in said lease, torCentral Aircraft Inc., a corporation, as Lessee, for a
period of twenty (20) years from October 19 1949, with an option to renew for an addi-
tional term'of ten (10) years, upon the rental and other terms specified in said lease.

SP.' :HXIAL MEETING, OCTOBER 2 7, 1949
RESOLUTION NO. C -874, WHEREAS it is necessary for the City of Yakima to construct a
sewerage system to dispose of sewage waste to be collected from the southerly portion of
the City of Yakima and there is at the present time no satisfactory facilities for
carrying off and disposing of the sewage waste to be collected by said system;
.AND WHEREAS the .City of Union Gap contemplates the construction
of a sewerage system and sewage disposal plant and has offered to permit the 'City of
Yakima to discharge the sewage waste collected in said proposed system through its
sewerage system and to dispose of the same in its.sewage disposal plant upon the payment
to it of the proportionate share of the cost oft.operation and maintenance of its sewage
disposal plant and the further sum of $40,900.00` ° as a proportionate share of the cost of
the construction of additional trunk line facilities for handling said sewage waste of
the City of Yakima, and it being for the best interest of the City of Yakima to enter
into a contract with the City of Union Gap for the disposal of said sewage waste and for
the participation in the cost of maintenance and operation of said disposal plant and
the -cost* of construction of said sewerage ' system, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COINPAISSION OF THE 'CITY OF YAKIMA
that the proper officials of the =City of Yakima be and they hereby are authorized, em-
powered and directed to enter into a contract with the City of Union Gap for the dispos-
al of the Yakima sewage waste to be collected from the southerly portion of the City of
Yakima as the same now ;exists or as the same may hereafter be enlarged, said contract to
provide for the payment by the .City of Yakima to the City of Union Gap its proportionate
share of the operation and maintenance of the.proposed Union Gap sewage disposal plant
and a further payment of a sum not to exceed $40.;900.00 as a proportionate share for the
cost of construction of the said proposed Union- Gap.sewerage system.
