The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, August 22nd, 1949, were approved as read: Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids for paving alleys on Holton Avenue and South 12th Avenue in L.I.D. No. 676, the bid of Columbia Asphalt Paving Co. in the sum of $5530.20 being the.only one received; It is ordered that said bid be accepted and the Mayor and City.Clerk instructed to execute a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima upon the filing of the proper bond: carried Buck and Clark voting aye on roll call. Bishop absent. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that R.R. Glenn, L.-B. Vincent and George M. Lemon, be reappointed as members of the Planning Commission; said appointments to be for a six year period respectively, from August 16, 1949 to August 16, 1955,• inclusive: carried Buck and Clark voting aye on roll call. Bishop absent. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that the City Engineer having reported the completion of the Menjanker Sewer system, L.I.D. No. 672, the same is hereby accepted and the City Engineer authorized to prepare an assessment roll therefor: carried Buck and Clark voting aye on roll call. Bishop absent. RESOLUTION NO. cC -856, WHEREAS, the City of Yakima is the owner of a small triangular tract of land lying within the intersection of West "A" Street in the City and 'County of Yakima, State of Washington, as the same is officially dedicated and bounded on the West by .Pierce. Avenue and on the East by North 7th Avenue;-and WHEREAS, said land is now in an unimproved and unsightly condi- tion and A. J. Lenz has offered to lease said premises for the term ending August 31, 1954, at an annual rental of $25.00 and has further agreed to improve said premises and ..to use the same for office and business purposes and to maintain said tract in a neat and attractive manner, and it is considered to be for the best interests of the people of the City of Yakima to enter into said lease upon said terms; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION: That it is for the best interests of the City of Yakima to enter into a lease of the premises herein described to A.J. Lenz for the period above men- tioned and for the purposes and upon'the terms above set forth, and the Mayor and the City {Clerk are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to enter into a lease of said premises for such purpose.
